Douglas C-47 v3 Livery Thread

Hey Steve,

I just need to go over the Naca, Patuxent and Varig paints to make sure there are no missed parts. Then do the cfg edits,
type up the readme's and zip them up. I hope to have them uploaded this weekend.

Joe

I'm having a go at this one....although it has already been done before, It appeared to have 'anomalies' so I'm in the throes of a full repaint from scratch...;)

Thanks Joe. Not rushing. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it. These birds are scattered all over the library. Seems I find one in a new hiding place almost daily!

Knowing that jankees is working on SNAFU I will keep this one in my hanger. :applause:

Joe

why? That looks great!
You post this as the modern version, and I'll try and make mine look like the WW2 version?

Here's a my first shots, clearly the nose needs more attention:

On one of the earlier posts (might have been the original Douglas C-47 v3 thread) there was a screenshot of the New Zealand National Airways Corporation livery.

I've searched but haven't found it anywhere.

Just wondering, has it been released?

Love this C-47 beastie, brilliant work to all who helped in the development.

Thanks,

Pete.

Hi JK !!! Being this an olive drab paint I hope that it won't be like the That's all brother one : I've noticed that the top of the fuselage is
divided in two longitudinal half where the color is different creating
a separation upper line. Sorry to tell you this, I hope to don't bother you bye

Only the paperwork is still missing (Thumbnail, Readme, Screenshots, Zipping Uploading).
The normal nightmare....

Needed another aircraft...

....our freight business picked up a few more clients so we needed another airplane. Of course I simply went back to see Willy and the good ole boys at Merc Air.
I'm not sure how legit the paper work is on this one but, hey it flies.

So far I've found a grand total of 2 photos of this one...of the appropriate vintage. So much of it has to be 'inferred'...and the '50th Anniversary' font on the right side will have to be hand drawn....none of my 2188 fonts is even close....

Still....this side is almost done...;)

Pretty sure there'd be a AEQ over the pilot's window....just need to bend it right..

sure looks nice!

I started playing the metal with Gordon's new paintkit as well:

not there yet, but you get the general idea..

Jan, Christoph and Gordon-

I just can't get enough of the all metal look. There are so many talented painters doing work on our beloved -3/47. We are indeed fortunate!

This one should be available in the library now. As I will away from my flightsim computer, I will try to upload the ones which are finished.
