DX10 Bliss

And that's just about the only advantage it offers over the free fixes (apart from the "all in one" thing and the UI).

I still wonder how he made the textures display. Must've been a shader...

Does anyone know what files the Fixer installs?

Shaders are the code that gets executed on the GPU and unlike DX9, DX10 and 11 are heavily shader based. The C++ side of things isnt nearly as extensive as the HLSL is. So texture problems can normally be found in the shader, not the core.

The other advantage is it fixes a TON of issues with third party scenery at night. If you fly during the day, and don't use portovers you can get by with the free fixes (I did for a year before the fixer was released) but as soon as the sun goes down it was bizzarro world. with the fixer, orbx lights are perfect, most Aerosoft and other airports display correctly. well worth the money for that alone, I don't fly many portovers.

to answer some others above: the rain umbrella thing is fixed, the white portover aircraft is fixed, the flashing ground lights are fixed mostly by the fixer, and there's an option in the tools to attach a ballast light to your aircraft for those few sceneries that still have the issue. CEN4 I don't know, since I don't have it, but I think the developer recently patched it for DX10 compatibility. there are still some issues here and there, but much better with the fixer than without. oh, and there's "slow snow" too.

What I understand is that he only swaps the DX10 shaders, nothing else. This is why DX9 is not affected in any way.

That's what I suspected.

So you're trying to say that only shader files get swapped out, ja?

Just like portovers, I don't use any third party sceneries at all, so there's no issue with that.

OK, being very lazy and to save on going through pages and pages of info :isadizzy:, what are the best setting to have in NvidiaInspector if you use this gizmo? I guessing not the same as DX9.

Cheers,
Andy
