Early KLM scheme for Manfred's C-47

Hey Huub,

Keep in mind that the new textures folders with the MJ C-47 and C-117 will have all the bits inside that will create the polished metal skins. Your paint will look really nice with those options. I think I'm going to have three levels of alpha and three global env files, so you can fine tune the skin look you want.

TF is already working with the files, you can see the metalized look on his screens.

MAAM missed out on great opportunity on doing a FSX model! It's still my favorite DC3!

Thanks,Ted, very nice of you to say. The R4D/C-47/DC-3 was on top of the list re native FSX development, it was our best selling model afterall. Choosing a lite aircraft to get aquainted with native FSX construction and 3dsMax was probabely not the brighest idea but i doubt if i could've finished the DC-3 anyway. The batteries were in really bad shape. All water under the bridge, look at what we've got now ! Could never have made a better job of it !

Have you heard the internal sounds? Did those too.

Do you mean in one of your video's or is there a DC-3 pack with your sounds included already outthere ?

Yes, Hansi is doing his magic!

I thought so. With Hansi on board the sky is the limit!

Btw, i say again, these awesome screenshots of yours are driving me crazy !! :isadizzy: :d

Cheers,
Jan

You underestimate your abilities, from what I saw of the yellow beauty. Sometime nothing will recharge the batteries and new set of batteries are required to continue (metaphor).;);)

Videos only! The sounds will be included with Manfred's DC-3 package.

Huub and Jan's repaints are something to behold on this model. Gman continues to update the specs and bump files further. I've only tweaked a little to fit the reloaded model from those early FSX model. When this model is released, I'm sure that a few repaints will be revamped by the artist.

Didn't realize you have time to be here and fix cars with 'Bro. Thought you didn't like the computer fan blowing on you all day.....

Keep it private bro. This is why I don't have on line friends. Don't pm me any further.

From several repaints I did for Manfred's original C-47 I still have the layered files. So I just have to shift in the "drawing" from the livery. For those I don't have anymore, I can easily use the textures to redraw the livery as the different versions obviously use more or less the same layout.

Currently Jan (Javis) is feeding me with information about early KLM liveries, which I try to implement in the KLM repaint. But as with all early liveries, it has become clear to me that in the "early days" there was no communication office which would guard the "corporate identity"! On every rule of the thumb there is at least one exception :isadizzy: :icon_lol:

True! Problem is the're awfully expensive and hard to find. Have to say though i am rapidly developing an urge to start looking for a good second hand set... :running:

Videos only! The sounds will be included with Manfred's DC-3 package.

I found a video in the 'Manfred's C-47 reloaded' thread ( and again a truckload of tantalizing screenshots! :icon_eek: ) Starts with a nightflight to show interior lighting ( very nice indeed! But i can never get used to that Basler cockpit... ) The interior sounds are just as wonderful as the external. Again best i've heard for the DC-3 ! Excellent job, Ted. WOW!!! :applause: LOVE it when you zoom outside to have a look at the engines !

Thanks a million to everybody working on this magnificent DC-3 wonder ! You all deserve a medal ! :medals: :medals: :medals:

Cheers, :ernae:
