English Electric Wren - native FS2024 update released

DennyA

SOH-CM-2023
Rara-Avis released a free (thanks, @full!) fully native FS2024 update to the Wren today. It a fun 1923 motorized glider that's great for low-and-slow flying, or retro-soaring. Beautifully modeled and inexpensive if you didn't buy the 2020 version. A little aeronautical progress happened between this and the EE Lightning...

Yeah, I was talking with @full about this on the official MSFS forum. He said he's releasing the 2024 updates on Marketplace, then waiting for feedback and releasing to third-party vendors once the bugs are addressed. I bought most of his stuff on iniBuilds, so I'm anxiously awaiting the Bulldog Autogyro update there. (Flying Flea and Horten FS2024 updates are already live in iniManager.)

He's also released a payware update to his fun little Whittaker MW6 on Marketplace. But that's not one I've flown enough to justify $18 for an improved version. (Since the original was freeware.)

Yes, MP only for now, but I may be swayed :)

The Whittaker has actually had a lot of work done on it, a lot of stuff behind the scenes in the coding, and of course the texture work. If you get a chance have a read through the features list on my website. The flying fleas are getting some 2024 treatment now and then it will be the Horten.

Thanks
Craig

Thanks, Craig @full! Interestingly, IniManager shows 2024 install options for the Flea and Horten. Must just be a folder location choice; I thought those were 2024 updates! Excited to see the new versions!

On the "non-Marketplace" option, a lot of core users prefer to use third-party stores because:
1) You can tweak the files for stuff like flight model tweaks
2) It makes accessing textures to create repaints dramatically easier
3) Faster updates in the cases of devs who send to MP and 3P stores at the same time

So #1 and 2 would definitely apply here.

Per your comment in the Robinson thread, flightsim.to is fine! I've bought the Flying Fries stuff there, and your Zippy Sport.
