Err liners

I flew big planes for about 30 years and the sim is a wonderful way to re live some really fun and adventurous times and explore some plane I never flew. I have ported over the PMDG 777 and 737 with a degree of success, some flew paws still but reasonably decent. I did quite a few domestic flights win the 777 and a SEA BKK and back with a stop in TPE.

I have never flown an Err Buss so I took an insane step and bought the INIBUILDS A350-1000 for 2024. I now know why I never flew an Err buss. Really different and it would appear that this is one for computer drivers. However not deterred. The biggest issue I have is data entry since there are no line select keys one has to highlight and activate a data box. Problem is the boxes often do not activate and data entry a miserable and frustrating task. I have successfully journeyed from SEA to SFO, though disaster was avoided by a Presidential order grounding all other West Coast flights.

Maybe create a simbrief flightplan with as much detail as possible and import that?
The A310 is the closest to a flyable Airbus I find, and free :)

Thanks for the video! Slowly making progress, some of the critical musings work with difficulty, especially the push pull knobs on the MCP. Unfortunately sim brief will not import unless the engines are off and on the ground, which seriously time burdens learning flight as the plane starts cold and dark.

It will work in the end.

Axis n Ohs started my 2020 and it needed a 4 gig update so I let it grind away. Being there I decided to try the Eh350-900. Much to my surprise it flys really well and is easy enough to input data etc. So doing a needle ball airspeed pilotage trip Bangkok to HongKong. See how that goes!

I think SU1 has disturbed flight dynamics of a number of aircraft?

Having quite good luck with the plane in 2020. Flying the first EFIS Boeings the mantra was if everything went to "chit" just turn it off and fly the plane. Still works!

Unfortunately the 2024 Inibuilds A350-1000 cannot be programed in either locked or legacy mode wheres the 900 in 2020 works fine. Even importing Simbrief does not take care of all FMS needs. an un programable Airbus is a paperweight.

Currently flying the 900 in 2020 with better results. Yesterday HKG-SEA. Went OK except still haven't figured out how to insert Departue or arrival. Hand built the arrival and hand inserted the ILS. At least the "Boing" has auto tuning.

I have gotten the 900 in 2020 to work mostly. There was an issue with GPU not disconnecting which prevented me going anywhere. Solved that by not using the GPU. Had a decent flight TPE-HKG and sim Brief set me up for a 7L approach. Only to find out on final I would land in the water. Apparently MSFS 2020 hadn't expanded the airport as yet? I did have an add on airport but apparently an update eliminated it?

Did moderately successful flights yesterday HKG TPE, replenish and continue to PVG (Shanghai). Figured out how to do the depr and arrivals though still having to intervene in the descent profile. I'll have to go back and see if I can get the 1000 to work in 2024.

A350-1000 is currently a paperweight in 2024 as I can't program the FMS due to continuing issues with the data entry blocks.

The 900 in 2020 seems to work OK despite some occasional "flew-paws" such as deciding to start descending in level flight prior to intercepting the GS.

I did do a flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong in the A350-900 (2020) without any significant errors. Now if I can just get the 1000 to work in 2024. It is strange that Navigraph which has the latest AIRAC is not showing current charts as my flight plan and the arrival and approach charts do not match the flight plan but are old.

Got the charts issue figured out at least in 2020 and maybe 2024? I can now fly the A350-1000 in 2024 but it still hand flys like poop, though it's sibling in 2020 flys well.

A successful flight in 2020 with the 350-900 FAI to PVG overnight. Now off to PVG HKG. The plane works pretty well in 2020 but still trying to sort out the 2024 version, which if something goes sideways on arrival, you really can't hand fly it. I think the issue is with SU1 which somehow changed the flight dynamics as the PMDG 777 also flys more poorly and there are some issues with the 737-200 I have been working on. SU1 fixed some WASM issues etc but degraded some others.

Though it's supposed to be a 2024 airplane the A350-1000 works very well in 2020 and hardly at all in 2024. The free FBW A380 also is a pretty nice plane, lacks just a few bells and whistles but similar to fly to the a350. Actually a good flyer and quite an accomplishment.

With the 2024 version having huge cockpit camera issues. Many things just not wanting to bind!
