I understand that someone had been working on one, but, for the life of me, I can't remember who, or how far they had gotten.:d

It was Dave Boynton (Dangerous Dave). He of the Mosquito Project. He took a bit of a sabbatical, but assures me he's back on track with the Mossie, but the Widow will have to wait until he's done with the Mossie. Dave's new nipper is due in October, so frankly I'm not sure how much he'll be able to do.

Am I suppose to get a desk top shortcut for ETO? I did for the Korean Pack. I think I did something wrong, should I have the disc in when downloading ETO? When it finished downloading and asked if I wanted to start tjhe game I hit yes. When I went to the game it looked like it just started the regular CFS3.

Mapal, here's the procedure:

1. Start with a clean, totally unmodded, and fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a) vanilla CFS3 install.

2. Download both CFS3 ETO Expansion 1.0 and CFS3 ETO Expansion Cumulative Update 1.20 from the Aussiex site. The ETO FirePower USAAF HeavyBombers2 conversion pack is purely optional and requires these four folders from a FirePower install, B_17_Share, b_17f, B_17G, adb B_24J.

Note: DO NOT INSTALL ETO INTO A FIREPOWER INSTALL, OR VICE VERSA. You will have problems.

3. Install CFS3 ETO Expansion per readme instructions.

Note: Make very well sure that the MultiCFS3.exe runs just before installation is complete so that you can re-name your install to CFS3 ETO Expansion. If it doesn't run automatically, you will have to go into the CFS3 ETO Expansion main game folder and run it manually. DO NOT START ETO UNTIL MULTICFS3.EXE HAS BEEN RUN.

Note: After proper installation, you should have FIVE (5) icons on your desktop following installation: ETO Backup, ETO BDP Zapper, ETO Resolution, ETO Spawn Selector, and ETO Start.

Note: Here is important info if you're a Vista user: For the folder normally found in XP C:/Documents and Settings/User Name (Your Name)/Application Data/Microsoft – go to, in Vista - C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft for Application Data folder location

For the folder normally found in XP C:/Documents and Settings/User Name (Your Name)/My Documents – go to, in Vista - C:\Users\\Documents for My Documents folder location.

For seeing hidden files and folders, and revealing file-name extentions:
Open a folder, say My Documents. At top left click on Organize and then Folder and Search Options. Click on View and you will find both selections in the list.

Also make sure that your User Account Control (UAC) is turned off, or you won't be able to start in any Era other than Era 1.

You may also wish to try this: Right-click on the ETO Start icon and do this: "run as administrator", "compatability mode - windows XP (service pack 2)"

Okay, another question... so I downloaded everything correctly I believe, I didn't have to change any of the batch files but the era swapper wont' work, i'm on a vista, and the only one I can open is the 1936-1940 era

ApacheC424, that's what is does. It's not frozen. It will stay that way for several minutes, and then the bar will move to the right.

I hope you started with a clean, unmodded, fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a) CFS3 install.

Follow the installation instructions EXACTLY.

Don't do anything else on your computer until it has fully installed, and don't skip any steps.

Note: You will also have to do Deadmeat1971's Vista mod to play online, just as you do for stock CFS3.

i see on the aussie download site there are 2 downloads for ETO; do i have to download both or is the cumaltive version the only one i need? guess its best to find that out first.

i've got a clean install of cfs3 3.1a, i've also got MAW 1.31 installed and working fine - is it okay to have MAW and ETO installed together - don't see why not as both just draw on cfs3 as a slave program right?

Flying_spud, actually, there are three, but as the the third is purely optional, the only two you need are 1.0 and 1.20. 1.0 is required as it's the base install. 1.20 is an update.

Please follow installation instructions exactly, and if you have any problems, please post them here.:d

Ok i found the error it was only the Folder name .
I typ in CFS3 ETO Expansion but the Game like only CFS3 ETO Expansion_________.

Can someone explain to me why if the P-51D was one of the premier figheters of the late part of WW2 why It flies like a rock in the sim? CFS3, ETO, all the same, if I do a quick combat flying it I am lucky to survive. I've been flying alot of sims for some time so although I can always improve my skills I am not a novice flyer. just curious if anyone feels this way or can explain how I could fly it "better".
