F-4 Phantoms back at Alphasim

Wondering If someone can do a repaint of VF-102 for pack 1? It was my uncles squadron.. just wondering..

I'm using Pack 1 in FSX acceleration. I changed a few gauges to FSX standard, the only problem now is the drag chute. The Concorde nose keys don't seem to operate the chute in FSX, has anyone got it working?

I guess you mean this one:

It is a nice repaint of RF-4B Bu. No. 157346 from VMFP-3 in 'film' markings by "Tranquil" of UKMIL. It can be used on the RF-4C model included in set 3. The RF-4C model does not have the RF-4B refuelling probe, other than that I think it comes close to the real thing. The download is still available: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.p...ge=downloads&FileUploadName=Tranquil#download

cheers, Henk.

Is this file still available? I tried the link and it's dead, presumably following the rebuild .... any help would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks,

Tranquil's files are still available. Do a library search on "Tranquil" or use this link:

Brilliant - thanks.

For some reason, I can't get to that view of the library like I used to. The only library I see anymore is "Warbird's library" - how do I get the old library view?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, and/or if my gnat-level intellectual capacity is showing through ...:icon_lol:

DL, are you looking for this?

From the menu bar, open the Warbird's Library picklist (click little arrow on right hand side) and select Warbird's Archive

Yes, many thanks - that's what I was looking for. I'm glad to know the pre Mar2010 files are still accessible.

That said, I'm still trying to figure out the file architecture for the "current" addons (post-server rebuild). I don't see how to readily search for files. I see FS2004 Addons broken down into Aircraft, Skins and Other. It doesn't look like I can search for an addon by someone's name like I could formerly do in the Archive - or am I missing someting?

Sorry this is OT.

thanks,

DL,
to search for files by a specific user, click on "Warbird's Library", "Add-On's Index" and "Search Add-Ons Library". Half way down the right hand side of the page is a Username field.

Incidentally, don't bother trying to search either "Archive" or "Archive 1" by filename - it seems to be totally broken,
hope that helps,
Regs,
Ro

Thanks Rohan - that now makes sense. Issue resolved! :)

There are three extra models with the Pack 3 paintkit. One is for a late-model RF-4B/C, one is for another F-4J and the last is for the early Spey variant without the RWR pod on the tail. Unfortunately, the TACAN aerials are still on the tail in this model, but you can't have everything.

BTW, I think someone's complained about lack of sheen/shine. You might find that the alpha channel is set for transparency.

Dave

Phil told me the Pack 3 paintkit (and hence the extra models) was no longer available (I'm in the midst of redownloading prior to my triumphant return to the skies :salute: ) - can anybody clarify that?

I have the original release pack 1, 2, & 3, as well as the original paint kits. Paint kit 3 does have the extra models. I don't know if it can be openly passed around or not. Of course, the main part of the pack cannot be, but I'm not sure about the paint kit and add-on models. I can send it via email if I get an ok.

I guess we need an answer from Michael Davies or Phil himself! Think I'll fire Michael a PM!! :running:

Finally got an answer from Phil at Alphasim. (He thought he might have answered it sooner, but found he didn't. Busy man, easy to do. :salute:)

He said we may share the paint kit and models included in the paintkit freely and publicly. So, if it's allowed, I'll try to post it here at SOH. But before I do, can a mod let me know if it's ok? (It's a 23MB file, so my email can't send it complete.)

Also, just for info to those who don't know/forgot who made these, it's Mark Harper. (Not sure of his handle here at SOH.)

That's a relief, I wasn't having any luick and rather wanted those extra models! Thanks for progressing this, you are a star!
