WOW!
She's a keeper....
But....Can some one figure out how to put a U.S. airspeed indicator on the pilot side?
There is one on the Co-pilot side...but upon trying with FSPanel Studio and looking at the "panel config" I can't figure out?
Other than that...this thing is nice!

They are 3D gauges built into the model so you can't switch anything around. They look way better than 2D gauges, but don't let you do any customization.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..............
That is bad news....
Thanks Kiwikat.

Really? If its demonstrably wrong then they should patch it, or else they should never have offered it for sale in the first place, two years or not. It's not as if they haven't got things to fix. The landing lights are mislocated and a bit naff in terms of light intensity & spread (I will swap them for the A2A 3d lights anyway, which is why I didn't mention it in my previous post) but there are certainly issues that need to be addressed. Especially in a package at this price point, although model and system errors would need to be addressed even if it was 4 bucks.

Besides these new kids on the block won't want to be launching their new virtual aviation manufacturing with a duff 'un, will they..?
Maybe you should sign up for the next beta team, that way, you can be assured it'll all be correct before the "new kids" release it.

I think, to try to clarify, that 3D gauges have been part of FSX model construction since FSX was released. I may be in error so correct me if need be, send me to my room, send me bread and water, if I'm out of order. Rye hard crusts preferred. In addition, how FSX displays 3D models of anything can be tricky, at least that is what I've been told by reading in forums including this forum if my memory is reasonably correct. It may not be worth anything as I am not certain where I left my memory, cannot recall where I put it.

Anyway, if you know what to do, you can find errors in a square building if you know how to find the display errors because you know FSX is not so accurate. Point of view is another factor. But I only offer thoughts meant to help. A model maker may state the issues of accuracy in proper technical words.

Some time ago I was in a minor discussion regarding the exact appearance of an aircraft and so I learned that the illusion of a 3D object on a 2 dimensional screen is not so simple especially where complex curves are concerned.

More precisely, this aircraft has a long and very useful history. Simulated flights would seem very detailed judging by the VC. I hope someone will report on flight simulations. :medals::guinness::icon29::guinness:

You're right of course.

We see 3D gauges.....in 2D on our computer screen.

you would probably see a problem if they were selling the real plane...what's the last payware product you sprang for? :icon_lol:

Hey now, I didn't point it out.

On the other side of the fence, I thought the original C-17 renders showed poor window modelling. The modeller showed me pics of the same angle and lighting comparing the real thing and the model, and the model was spot on.

As for the last payware I sprang for, I've been broke these days. It'd probably be the accusim B-17 or maybe PNW.

In Falcon 409's defense,

He wasn't referring to the folks that already bought it and their subsequent relative 'right' to have glaring issues fixed, he's saying that anyone who specifically hasn't bought it yet shouldn't instead of complaining.

Nice work Flight1 and Don and the team that put it all together. Brilliant model, textures, bump mapping...

Sorry to hear your critics are out to get you on your day of release. That is sad. I hope we all ignore the negative banter and focus on this beauty that we have been waiting so long for.

I hope to get it this weekend and do some proper Island hopping. Any recommendations for Island scenery?

Bill

I will be paying my dues and downloading it in a few minutes. I bet it wont be "perfect" and will be making one or two mission for it and many many flights!!!!!....to those who have nagged all I can say it's so easy to write or talk, we all learned that quite a while back, but it is so hard to make one of these models. To the great critics how about making the wonderful "Grumman Duck" but please be sure it's perfect!:jump::jump:

I'd just like to offer my congratulations to Dan on the release of the model. It was a bit of a bumpy road for him to get here, and I appreciate the fact that he stayed with it despite the issues. :salute:

I think critics make a product great, not just good. Look at how the Carenado C185 and F33 Bonanza have evolved in just a few months (185) and a few weeks (F33)!

Plus, not every designer can be Lotus :wiggle:

Lotus rocks.

After a statement like that though I would have to suggest that you limit your purchases to planes he makes.

Just Great!!!!!!...panel, engine sound is very good, I hear it everyday at around 7:00Am and sometime near
6:15 PM.......have started a Flight from MPTO *Tocumen, Wannukandi, Jaque and back to Panama City Down Town full of tourists....jungle flying all the way to Jaque and coast skirting coming to base..Wow, just fantastic, love it.....best investment in many moons!!!!.....will put up a link for those that want to try the flight maybe tomorrow night.......Brrrrrrr!!!!!! here I go again!!!!!!! up to about 5000 and enjoy the sights!!!!!!:redfire::greenbo::d
