F7F-1 Tigercat FSX & P3D Native Released

Lovely job, Gordon and team! The weight of the two big radials is obvious on a first flight and she flies very nicely. What I really like apart from the gorgeous model is the view from the cockpit: this is going to be lots of fun on VFR flights, which is how I mostly fly FSX.

Hats off, Milton! :encouragement:

Extremely Important Update

It has been brought to my attention that some P3D users have, or may have, allegedly mentioned, alluded to or inadvertently actually used the word fun in their comments here.

I would be remiss in my role as the developer of this upgrade if I did not include the caveat that under no circumstances is any one allowed to use the F7F P3D compatible Tigercat for any use other than serious, sober and extremely boring training of the most reverent nature.

Fun, the use of the word fun, or even the slightest indication that you are having fun is categorically forbidden and will not be tolerated by myself, nor any other person of responsibility involved with this extremely serious project. Worse yet, do not, under any circumstances give in to the urge to feel entertained. This simply will not do and could be construed as a serious mental deficiency.

No fun...none at all...period...I mean it...hold up your right hand...repeat after me......no fun.

Thank you. Geeez....that was a close one! :dizzy:

Oh my, I'm in serious trouble. For the last few hours I have been doing touch-&-go's at Kaneohe and carrier quals on the Eisenhower off Pearl Harbor. I have been serious and sober (somewhat) and getting in some good training in this fantastic airplane. But I'm very sorry to have to admit that I am having F-U-N !!! And there is no way in hell flying this bird could be boring.
Thanks for this incredible gift.

I can't help that I had fun to any extent, during the beta process, so, I'm sorry about that :p
...
Oh wait, I'm an FSX user!

Congrats Gordon!

FSX, a little edited.

Carrier launch and Recovery

Hi,

Absolutely wonderful model! High praise to all. There is however a small problem that would be nice to rectify: The carrier pilots of the day both launched and recovered with their canopies open (and locked). That way they could ensure that exiting the airplane in the event of getting into the water. The plane guard destroyer might not get to them in time, and this was prior to todays ever present recovery helo. The problem is that opening the canopy also lowers the boarding ladder (on the starboard side). Is it still possible to separate these two functions?

Many thanks gman5250 and to Milton and all those involved in the original project.

A very welcome addition to FSX!

Wow. Great. When a project was done with passion and love....The result is outstanding.
Thanks Gordon, Milton and all the team for this piece of art. :very_drunk:

I just finished uploading a few paints on OZx (link), including these two:

If you like them, do post a screenshot here please?

Many thanks to gman, Milton and all who assisted for this fabulous gift to the community. Stunning work.
Always wanted a Shelby Cobra with wings!

this one:

is actually from a Marines squadron, VMF-312, based in San Diego, 1945. And it's even the right model, a F7F-1!

The F7F-2 and F7F-3 variants (WIP) will have a gunsight and TacPack compatibility.

Maybe F7F-3N version with AR or HVAR unguided rockets and external fuel tank also?

This version is really nice.. Just wishes ;)
