F7F Tigercat SOH Project

Sadly I don't work in FS9 anymore. What if we went FSX first, and then made the mesh available for FS9 to be exported using the new methodology that Bill used on that Boeing flying wing? I have pretty much all of the gauges needed made, as the P-61 I am involved with right now used many of the same gauges.

Milton,

That sounds like an offer! The project LOOKS GREAT! It would be nice to see it in FSX. I wish I could contribute, but everyone here is on a completely different skill level than myself, I'm simply a novice simmer.

I do not have a problem with that at all. Not sure that that process works in reverse but I am open to whatever you all want to do. I know you will be tied up for awhile so we have some time to kick this around.

Milton,

Your totally awsome! I can't for it to be ready for all of us. Untill then I have totally enjoyed the tread. Thank to all who have stepped up to bring one of the best and well respected aircraft in history to life.

The external model(s) looks perfect. It would be a real waste when this project could not be finished. I keep my fingers crossed an really hope that either somebody capable will step forward or that "reverse technology" as N2056 suggests is possible.

Nevertheless Milton, thanks for taking the challenge and all your efforts so far.

I 2nd that!

As do I. :salute:

Thanks for all the work you have put in so far, Milton. I sincerely hope someone with the skills is able to step up. I wish I could, but I'm still having trouble just getting a square box! And on the painting side... let's just say, I'm lost. :icon_lol:

This evening I was flying the Tigercat out of Henderson Field, Midway Island, for Carrier landing practice in the Leyte Gulf (FSX). What a great plane!! Dating back to an early CF series the F7F was a favorite fighter, still is. Power, handling and the lineage of the "Cat".

Any word of a VC designer taking up this project? I'd love to see this completed and either be FSX native or at least ported over and SP2 compatible.

Thanks again for your interest. No one has stepped up to the plate to do this so we are in a holding pattern possibly until N2056 finishes up the P-61 work to do the native FSX panel and 3D gauges. The VC, panel and gauges are the next things to be done.

Meanwhile I am trying to get the AT-11 out the door.

Milton,

Your a Saint and its to bad that the Tiger had to take the back door to the Widow. They both will be top notch, but I think I'll more partial to the Tiger. I have always been a fan of your work (and Your Team). I hope things will happen in the near future.

Fortunatly many of the instruments for both th F7F and P-61 should be similar. As the "standard" fro VC's has improved, the time and skill involved in producing one, as well as the time comittment, has increased, a lot!

I can see whay the head USN test pilot called it "the best damn fighter ever"! Speed, manuverability, acceleration and just about the best view over the nose for gunnery and deck landing of any aircraft.

Cheers: Tom

Well, I will say that the P-61 has been waiting in the wings for quite a while now and I am personally happy to see it getting the attention it deserves. It won't take long, and then we will be honored to have N2056 putting the quality time in the Tigercat. :jump:
