I noticed (after many years of flying it) that the front canopy bracing bars (running vertical on either side of the gun sight) are missing when in the VC view. Yet, the bracing is visible on the 3D model. Does any one have any ideas why this would occur?

Hi BC,
The reason is that the VC is a separate model level built within the whole model. So if the builder left it off the VC model, but put it on the external model, that is why you have differences between the two.

The only way is to get the builder to re-do the model and fix the issue or to back engineer it, by re-building the whole model.

Cheers

Shessi

Thanks for the explanation Shessi. Now the CFS2 model for the F4U-2 doesn't have this issue. Is it possible to sub the CFS2 model file in for the FS9 one? In all reality the lack of these vertical bars is not a major issue, so it is hardly a deal breaker if it can't be done.

Back up what you have and give it a shot. Just be sure that the model.cfg is adjusted if you don't rename the model file you drop into the model folder.
