First generation jets

The Su-15......there are two packages for the SU-15 on Avsim.ru that I found. By Brett Hoskins. Could use some paints to sharpen the plane up more, but they aren't bad.

Jens Kristensen did a nice F-84G Thunderjet (Avsim) and a great Dassault Mystere IV can be found here: http://restauravia.com/page10.html

Don't forget to pick up both Fouga's while you are there!

There was an Attacker for Fs02/04 but that site went down some time ago. Alphasim has a freeware Supermarine Swift, while Piglet has done a good Saab Tunnan.

Mmm, not sure I totally go for that definition of 1st generation, but never mind - I think it is a fairly artificial thing anyway.

Ferry, I know the Attacker you mean, it was very primitive so no great loss. There is, however, one available at Flightsim, a CFS2 model from Ralph Pegram which has been tweaked for FS2002/4 - to be honest, it needs a little more tweaking & a fresh coat of paint, but it isn't too bad.

I refuse to accept the Swift as 1st generation (not totally convinced about the J-29 either) as it was very much a contemporary of the Hunter. However, I agree that Piglet's Tunnan is superb, and love Alphasim's Swift (just a shame that we never got the earlier failed fighter version as well); and David Garwood's Hunters are just brilliant (of which more soon ;)).

Sea Hawk

Did anyone mention Nazca's neat little Hawker Sea Hawk? If not, it's a great little jet that the Royal Navy and the Marineflieger flew.

I don't have the link for it after a change in computers. Seems like it was at a specific site and I don't recall the name either.

Here she is at Thornycroft shooting some touch and goes.

And the Dutch, and the Indian Navy; the Indians had it in service until the early 80's, when they replaced it with another Hawker product, the Sea Harrier. Found a very interesting photograph a while back, showing the transition period.

I always loved this little jet, but for so long we never had a decent model for FS9; I was so relieved when Steve made his model, I followed the progress at that other forum with bated breath & was not disappointed with the little gem that appeared.

As Rich said, you can find it at www.flyingstations.com. Steve covered all the variants, and there a some realy nice repaints there too. Every now & then I nag Steve to see if I can persuade him to tackle the swept wing P1052 as well, but he's a busy man doing all those Canberras, and there is no way I'm going to stop him doing that!!! :salute:
