Hi, Jan!
If you´re running out of ideas (impossible!), but
"Elsie", 49th FG and
"California Cutie", 20th FG are nice to...

Cheers, Thilo

Great news Jan, if we just had a bubbletop P-47, that Elsie was looking very cute too...Hey A2A! lol

Cheers, Thilo

I just finished uploading this paint,
but if you're impatient, go here: http://rapidshare.com/files/304020852/JK_P-38_LC-C.zip

Hi Jankees, great paint!

I was wondering at what airport you took the top left screenshot of the plane sitting on the ground in front of the hanger, the one that you can see the tall grass/weeds. Also if this is addon scenery what scenery is it. It looks like a great airport and I want to go see it.

All good questions , the restored version does carry the same amount of fuel as do the others but replaces the external tanks with an internal one to compensate , regarding avionics and night lighting i will need to have Tim answer that one and will refer the question to him

Thanks Chuck. The extra internal fuel sounds good. As far as the minor avionics issues, hope they get solved in a little patch. Also noticed might want to add an Altimeter setting knob as well as the OBS2 knob. A minor unimportant thing I noticed too was that the elevator trim wheel moved the opposite way for the trim direction. But I am not a P-38 qualified pilot so it might actually move like that. I don't mean to sound like a rivet counter at all, its really good plane, just some minor little things to make it better :)

I think all these little details that your pointing out is GREAT! I wish we had someone with your background in the beta. Every little bit helps.

Hi Guys

Sorry to drag up this old thread, but I've only just purchased this bird and a problem.

I'm running FSX on Windows 7 64 bit. I installed with Admin rights.

I have no the aircraft files in FSX but no entries in the main menu - no manual.

I see there was was a previous post about this, but don't see a solution. But then my eyes are now square from reading this thread:sleep:

I'm awaiting a new password for FSD forum.

Thanks

I notified Tim that you posted this , i am not clear about what you have happening apart from looking for the POH, that should be found in the FlightSim Developers folder in your main FSX Directory.

Thanks for your patience , we will get you fixed up , C.J

Thanks Chuck

I think I may have just had a 'messy' installation.

After reinstallation I now have the FSD folder in the FSX root directory, and now I have the manual, I will no doubt find what I'm supposed to do with the config util. At the mo, it just shows a list and one tick box, but doesn't actually 'do' anything.

I absolutely love the aircraft. It's simply stunning!

What the program does is format you paint schemes for the simulator. If you add new ones all you need to do is run that program and it will write the aircraft.cfg file for you.

I've been flying this for several weeks now. Lots of fun and screenshots! Notes and queries follow.

First the notes:

The VC animations don't always seem to reflect everything that's going on in the airplane. Am I mistaken? Instances that I have noticed:

a. When you activate the dive brakes with the standard / key, the brake button (on the yoke) doesn't depress. You can feel it, and you can see the brake deploy under the wing; but you can't see the button press down in the VC

b. That's piddling stuff, I know. Here's something that's a little more important. Where are your flaps? In all the way? Maneuvering? Full out for landing? If you activate flaps using the keyboard or a controller button, you can't tell in the VC -- the flaps lever stays in the same place. If you drag it, it will move, but I think most of us assign flaps to a button.

Those were the notes. Here's the query: how do you feather a prop? I can do this in the SU model, by cutting the fuel and moving the prop lever to zero. What am I missing? I have tried playing with the prop switch (on/auto/off), but that doesn't seem to do it either.

it was mentioned earlier that using keys means the VC movements wont happen, IE you have to work the flaps lever with your mouse. Doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me either but it is what it is.

My main gripe since using this since release is why do i drop my tanks yet in the fuel manager it shows 100% fuel in the tanks that i just dropped.
