If i want to lessen the amount of lift to stop a plane floating forever on landing, even though flap and landing speeds are correct, in fact even stall speed has been reached during testing and still just about floating. Which part of the fde do i edit please?

First can you tell us what plane you are experiencing issues with.

Second what realism settings are you using?

Finally do you have ground effects turned off?

You could decrease flap lift in the air file.
You could increase empty weight in the aircraft.cfg file
You could decrease wing area in the aircraft.cfg file

There's also a ground effect entry in the air file. I recommend using AAM for this over AirEd - it's easier to adjust the graphs.
