Flyon's Western Roundup

Departing Spokane Felts KSFF , en route to Hells Canyon, Oxbow OR12. The banker wants to go do some river rafting now?!?

Landed safely at Oxbow OR12.
Direct distance: 162.3 nm
Flight time: 00:57:13
Fuel used: 175.0 lbs

A shaky flight for me, to say the least. Flying through clouds a lot of the time.
No speed gauge for most of this flight (which made things interesting...), but had all the other gauges working properly. Go figure.

Takeoff was good, after a fried chicken lunch (Mr. Banker bought btw. It tasted good 'cause it tasted free...lol) over at the KFC across the runway:

50 nm out. I know Hell's Canyon is out there in front of me somewhere...

With no functioning speed indicator, I had to stay below the clouds. I knew the descent into Oxbow would come swift once I cleared the mountains, and I didn't want to overspeed/overstress in the process.
Getting close, but it's like flying in one big bowl of soup up here -nasty:

No pics of the landing, unfortunately. It was hard enough to keep this bird on the runway. Let's just say I had a lot of bounce in my step...lol

Your pitot tube iced over and froze up. Turn on the pitot heat to keep it unclogged and open.

Safely landed at Heber 36U.

Flew right into thunderstorms at takeoff, and they were with me for most of the flight. It made for a bumpy flight, and my passenger was not amused.
On the bright side, I got a free plane wash at this airport also -a good soaking just like at KSUN.
My passenger also got soaked, getting out of the plane -again, he was not amused...hehe

Departing from KLXV Lake County, en route to KASE Aspen-Pitkin Sardy. I will start from the previous parked position at Lake County.

Arrived at Aspen KASE.

Flight time: 00:09:43
Direct distance: 25.6 nm

I couldn't restart the plane at Lake County, so I reset from the flight planner from within the last 1V5-KLXV flight, using KLXV to KASE in the flight planner for the newest flight, if that makes any sense.
That sure beats having to restart FS9 over from square one for a ten minute flight...hope Mrs. Murph agrees...

Taking off from KGCN Grand Canyon, en route to KLAS MCarran Intl.

Landed at KLAS.

Flight time: 00:42:49
Fuel used: 183.9

http://fs-duenna.com/flights/ShowFlight.php?detail=flight&value=kzkfdFKHBWqLdckvUCmAVRGNbY

Arrived safely at Wayne Newton Blvd., although not without incident:
I never seen the Duenna 'started successfully' message bar at the top when I started, so I reset this flight. Here it was there and running the whole time, and I simply didn't see it -although I always have it set to 'Arm baton auto-pickup'. My apologies.

I had full intentions of landing at 25R, but came into the approach way too high. So I took a tour of the Strip to burn off altitude, then set up to land at 7R (which probably then ticked off a few golfers at Bali Hai GC...).

The banker spotted Larry Flynt's Hustler Club -which sits adjacent to Bali Hai at the corner of Dean Martin Drive and Ponderosa Way- on our final approach in. He's gonna chill out there...must be nice...he said he'll page me when he's ready to leave town...

Other than those hiccups (and 15-20 kt wind for most of the way), a nice morning to fly.

When Mr. Wall Street stepped out of Mr. Flynt's courtesy limo and staggered to the plane, he looked a little tipsy.
Strike that -he was downright wasted. When he boarded, he kept mumbling about having one-too-many watered-down drinks or something like that.
I was more incensed that he didn't ask me to come along and partake with him in the first place.
Mr. Wall Street banker -Mr. El Cheapo is more like it...

No problem, I thought to myself -our next destination, with 101 degree in May temps and -200 elevation should straighten him right up...
(Revenge is a dish best served cold -or hot in this case...:icon_lol: )

Leaving KLAS Las Vegas, en route to L06 Death Valley, Furnace Creek, CA.
