Fokker GI WIP

Hey, Zie! Good to see ya here. It's me, Prime, the guy who makes B-25 skins for War Thunder. Nice to see your bird in FSX as well as WT, I have similar plans for the Mariner.

Cockpit Update

I had some time and decided to finish the cockpit model and uv map
Here are the new pictures

Looks very promising. I'm glad the information I mailed you was usable.

Some minor remarks, I think the lever, which was there to put all levers in "start" position, between the throttle levers is a bit too small. I think you are missing the mixture lever at the side of this throttle box (4). The Please take a close look at shape of the the selector knob (34) in the right-hand side console.
Also the pedals might need some additional work. These were flat pedals with a leather strap on the top, which went over the feet.

For those who don't realise it this is a pre- WWII cockpit. Very advanced for its time. As this was one of the first aircraft which used the now so common consoles on both sides on the cockpit.

Cheers,
Huub

I dont know if you guys read Aeroplanemonthly, but there's a good 13 page artical on the Fokker G1, i bought this months edition for the cold war articals but Fokker database was really interesting with some great photo's ive never seen before, cant post anything here for obvious reasons but the next time your passing a bookstore or rail station, have a quick look.

cheers ian

Thanks for the heads-up Ian. I do know Aeroplane Monthly, but I'm not sure its available in the Netherlands anymore. The market for these high quality magazines is shrinking in the Netherlands and so is the number of shops which sells these type of magazines.
So I have placed my order at the webshop.

Cheers,
Huub

Yeah I agree with you on the pedals part. Will try to update that if I have time. As for mixture level I didnt even see it was next to 1! The selector knob will be thickened a bit to resemble the shape a bit more. Btw do you have more information where all those switches and stuff where for so I can make a texture for it?

As you might have seen, I mailed you some additional comments. Somewhere in the next days I will make a complete legenda for the pictures I already mailed to you. I hope this will provide you the required information.

As already said the it look already very promising, only some minor fine-tuning is needed.

Cheers,
Huub

It may just be me but I didnt receive anything can you check if you send it to my email *email address removed by admin to avoid spam* ?

Don't know why, but although I had clicked "reply" it went to a totally different e-mail address.

Cheers,
Huub

Lodewijk, the unwrap you made might not be very usable when you arrive at texturing. This applies to the unwrap of levers, tubes and all that stuff. In some cases it is sufficient to have just a 'Project from view' type unwrap, but for most parts it is not. I make my unwraps with the repainter in mind, he should be able to find most parts of the model back on the sheets.

Huub, by the way, did you receive my e-mail then? Since you appear to have a slight problem with your mail...

Ok!

Most of it can only be viewed froma certain angle or just one single color would be enough than I did that. That is except for 2 levers and the fuses I dont know how I missed that thanks! Btw call me zie or ZiePeregrine please, thank you.

Uv map Fokker GI

it is to large size to post it here immediatly so here is the link ;)
This time I really accurately took into account how much is visible on each object and except for the holder on the vertical stabilizer (the wrong which is placed over another objects his uv map) this uv map is very precise.

Wow, you work real fast, can you post an image with the texture wrapped around the model?

BTW you both have an e-mail.

Cheers,
Huub

What a cool aircraft! Very advanced for pre-war. I love the oxbow control yoke. What are the two levers for on the right handgrip? What sort of mechanism kept the tailgunner from shooting off that lovely twin boom tail?

:dizzy: I was surprised to see my own textures on the G-1 flying in War Thunder........ If you just would have asked, I would have said yes.

I have re-worked several textures since the original package was released, when you want to use these as well, just ask.......

A slightly disappointed,
Huub

Did you receive my email because as soon as I saw this i send you an email about it please read it :/

Email
