Free Carenado Piper Dakota

Bomber_12th

SOH-CM-2025
Since yesterday, in MSFS 2024, you'll find that the Carenado Piper Dakota is now automatically available from within your aircraft selection menu (free of charge, and without having to go through Marketplace to get it). It's visually stunning, and flies very nicely. The sounds are decent, though they can be a bit "tinny" in the exterior. The only issue I've run into, is so-far I haven't been able to get it started from cold in dark, though after doing everything in the checklist, Ctrl+E suffices for now. As with all Carenado aircraft developed for 2024, it takes advantage of the dynamic wear & tear texturing, which adds dirt and bug splatters as you fly it.

Here are some screenshots on my first flight, taking it from Warwick, NY, down the Hudson River through NYC and to Linden, NJ (using the also newly-released freeware City Update 11).

Really impressive shots there, Bomber! Good to hear something positive about the plane, the official forum's feedback thread is full of entitled rivet-counters complaining about a FREE gift - jeez... :dizzy:

Incredible pictures John! I'm enjoying the Dakota a lot as well. And I've already created two liveries for it :)

Realized that photo's missing my PA-32, PA-44, and L-7, which Airshow Assistant in its weird randomness didn't show as available.
