WOW! this plugin is mindblowing! Thanks for the HU. It made a huge difference in FS9. Now the sim looks and feels photo-real. I didn't notice any fps hit at all (i usually test with the C-130, since that's the most intensive plane i have).

thanks again!

These are all un-edited shots. All bloom, contrast, etc. are being handled in real-time by this plugin. Amazing!

Thanks. I installed the latest Direct X last night; FS9 now loads; but when it attempts to show either the showroom or scenery, it CTD. So, I had to take it out again. :frown:

just discovered that it has its own screenshot function on print key
so no need to load an screenshot programm in the backround

files will be saved in bmp format in the FS9 main folder starting with enb2009_

It does!
i have a lot of duplicates
because my screen grabber gets the same
must remember to turn one off
Thanks for the HU
one other thing i have noticed is the aircraft in the preview screen is washed out
but its fine when it loads

anyone else getting a white-out using this module? (same as henry mentioned above, but it doesn't go away when the sim loads all the way up... it just stays obstinately, monochromaticly, white...)
or am I the only one that gets a single-color screen with this thing?

Hello Henry,
discovered the same as you with the previewscreen but I think thats no issue it is just the way it behaves with the clouds in the backround ;)

I'm always a little worried about adding anything to my sim, once I think I've got it set up nicely, but tonight tried to give it a go and I'm very pleased. Perhaps in a few places, with a dark coloured aircraft its a little too on the well dark side, but on the whole very impressed. Makes my scenery seem a little bit better too.

Not noticed any hit at all on the framerates, the only really noticeable change is the white background on the selection screen.

Thanks for the HU, much appreciated.

Am I the only one that lost the antialiasing using nHancer with this tweak?

LouP

Boy am I unhappy. I put the tweak in and lost my AA. I spent all night updating my video drivers and installing the latest version of nHancer and still no AA, this is really really bad. :( How could this hapen all of a sudden and still be an issue after I removed the tweak?

LouP

very strange. It shouldn't affect AA at all. All this plugin does is call a bunch of functions directly from DirectX. It doesn't mess with the AAFS stuff at all (i had one of my programmers look at it for me to see if he can make it even better...so i'll ask him if this plugin can affect AA). Have you tried going into Full-Screen mode to see if there is AA? Or turn on the AA feature inside FS9 (i know most say not to, but for Nvidia cars, most need it to be on turned on (i have it checked for all my machines, and it has no affect on fps)

If you have trouble using the latest build (for me, it caused FS9 to CTD); I strongly recommend downloading and using the earlier build below instead:

www.classicwings.net/bloom.zip

The earlier build worked fine for me; as I mentioned earlier; the later build caused FS9 to CTD.

Next, you can go into the enbseries.ini, and turn and off the vaious effects here:

[EFFECT]
EnableBloom=1
EnableOcclusion=0
EnableReflection=0
EnableMotionBlur=0
EnableWater=0
EnableShadow=0
DepthBias=0

I changed the 0s to 1s, turning back off the ones that caused a CTD; until I only had those that worked.

Next, each effect has it's own section further down, that you can use to tweek it further. I thought that maybe the difference was due to the .ini settings in each; but replacing the earlier .dll with the later .dll caused a CTD again. I don't know yet if the earlier version has the screenshot function.

I also noticed a frame hit; and jaggies do seem to be worst; but I haven't gone back and forth enough to verify that is the case. It can be turned off; I only notice a difference when I turn it on and off by the frame rates. I think how much of a difference this enhancement makes depends on your video card and drivers; as well as your monitor settings.

I have the totally washed out white effect. I will try the earlier build. I used to have enbseries in FS9 prior to a problem that led to an entire FS9 re-install. Will post results.

Umm I've changed my mind, gone back to a restore point and rebooted my PC. It just seemed a little too dark for my liking, the more that I used it. Bare metal surfaces looked superb, but I normally fly VFR and had this horrible white haze in the distance, not very realistic at all, IMHO.

Sorry but it wasnt for me.

OK, got my AA back. For the record, I read this in an nVidia forum and it seems to work. Go into nHancer and delete the executable (not the profile). Re-add back the executable. Rename the FS9.cfg so it builds a new one. AA should be back, it was for me. As far as this tweak, it still interests me butnow I am frightened of putting it back in. If anyone knows how to get around what happened, sure would like to know cuz as I was researching my problem, I found a lot of folks that couldn't say enough good about it and that it was making their FS9 look as good or better than FSX.
