FS Addon Super Cub is at Simmarket

I agree with Calypsos, sort of.
I live in Alaska, am around a lot of super cubs, and those tires look nothing like the real deal. Not even close.
If you want the real deal, Mike from CYUL has an outstanding looking cub coming.
Soon I hope..:icon_lol:

Not even close? lol Looks pretty close to me.

The bump map might be too pronounced for AIR STREAK text part (easily fixable), but shape and size of the tires is IMO close to what I've seen in photos.

I should think that new tundra tires, having been just mounted on the proper wheels, would look different than tundra tires that have seen years of use. The tires in the screenshots in this thread look new to me.

Perhaps a painter, with the skills, can age tires ? Just an idea, of course, as well as age the entire aircraft ?

people shouldn't confuse personal preferences with 'correctness'

..its just so selfish and in some cases, rude :kilroy:

Those tires are incredibly modelled. Those are some of the most realistic tires I've ever seen in sim. What's wrong with them? I think they're the coolest part of this release, but that's just me.

My contribution to the great tundra tire debate :bump:

Modified the bump and diffuse maps of the tires; added dirt and made the text less pronounced.

Guess you can wait until a reputable reviewer has given it a good shake down and pronounced it worthy. . . .or not!

<chuckle>

From one reputable reviewer to 'community members': I have stopped making reputable reviews some time agao (did them on AVSIM, Computer Pilot, simFlight and other places).

Why!? Because they don't exist.

The entire 'sense' in this hobby if you like is about fantasy and impressions. Most of us never fly the real model... heck, most of us have never flown ANY plane in real life.... so anything written about FS models, their looks, their handling.... and even their builders, usually is 'feel', 'perception','impression'.

Anything but FACT. Hey, it's a sim, not reality. :wavey:

So I got tired of the endless discussions, critiques, flames, emails, forum threads and stopped writing them. One (writer OR developer) can never please them all. :blind:

Instead I started publishing them. And although I am a masochist and visit FS forums now and then .... I'm here today... I usually now refrain myself from jumping in the fray and I only HAVE to answer to actual customers of our products. Which I do. Vigilantly and with passion.

Much saner, let me tell ya ... LOL !

Now, as a reply to onne of the questions here.... no, this is not a port-over. No, this is not the same model 'reworked'. Simon made a NEW Gmax designed FSX model.

Like it or leave it, that's not up to me, but for now it is selling well, so a Big Thank You to all our loyal customers here and elsewhere ! :wavey:

A Reputable Publisher (or so I tend to believe :icon_lol: ).

Francois it's very nice plane. Love it, except for the sounds. It's too bad that these were not updates as well. It sounds like a recording from the </chuckle>thirties..:pop4:

Very well said heywooood! We see that same mindset over and over again in here and on other forums. The fact is Simon did an excellent job with the Super Cub, the tundra tires are spot on and whether or not they look too new or nothing like the real deal to some is of no real concern. Buy it if ya like it and if ya don't. . . . .don't.
