OK, I'm finally sold Bill. Been tieing myself down for a while now out of fear of a fps issue. May not actually have time tonight to buy and install but definately by this weekend. :woot:

Hey Lou,

I understand and know the feeling.

Thats why, with this entire frame rates issue, I worked hard with ways to make it really fast. The MFD issues were tackled, and then the textures were also hit. So now you can literally fly with low rez textures and also turn off (sleep mode) your MFD to really boost frames. It should run fine on Laptop computers. :d

Bill

Actually i have no frame rate issues in either FS9
or FSX at all and i do not have a high end machine
an excellent aircraft

Hey Lou,

The villages are in a chart/map in the Panel folder. They are all centered around a major airport there.

Make sure you have activated your airports/airstrips in the Addon Scenery center.

I found a new version of Jorge Wilsterman (SLCB) airport that is better than the stock, just for these new bases. Not the best but a lot better than the stock. It's by Miguel Garnica and is called Cochabamba2004.zip from one of the big two sites ('twas late last night and I forget). Gonna set me up the FSCargo entries and haul some boxes around.

Love the fact the manual is Landscape and not portait, such a simple thing that makes so much sense it beggars belief that more don't do this. (Wish I'd done some of the olé read-me's like that :redface:)

Kodiak Paint Kit Released

Hey guys,

Here is the new Kodiak paint kit.

I went in and thoroughly reduced a ton of layers to make this more compact and easier to use.

These feature;
* 2048 pixels size
* All Shading, Components, Base Layers, Stripes, Rivets, Panel lines seperated by layers, but numbers of layers reduced for simplicity and ease of painting.
* All layers labelled.
* Dirt, wear and tear, and weathering (3) are on seperate layers and can be tuned with opacity.
* Seperate exhaust layer as well, tuneable, can be turned off
* Bump Maps included and in layers
* Fuselage Specular Alpha included
* 3 Exterior Textures include Yellow, Red, and Red Cross texture layers, as well as base white
* Rivets layers can be turned off for FSX paint schemes (on for FS9 paint schemes.. )

If you have any questions on these, please ask.

I design these so that I can actually repaint my own planes super fast. Basically just colorise the base color layer, add a layer for stripes you might wish. If the rivets or panel lines dont show up well, increase their opacity, or vice versa for opposite effect. Burn some BMP's from those and you are done.

Happy flying,

Bill

Thanks Jamie.

:ernae:

I did that in iWork 09, on the iMac. Apple software office program called Pages.

I fell in love with that program. You can adjust/crop images much easier and do some wild editing, shading, and other features. It also exports to PDF format.

Apple reads the Windows side HD, so I just opened up my pictures, dropped them in the pages, and edited away... Actually made it pretty fun.

Bill,

getting a bad link for the kit. Loving this thing so far, fps are good, and she's a beaut'. Those wallpapers are great shots too, very nicely done!!

Also some pics of the scenery I mentioned above, comes with some hills and some static B727's as far as I could figure. And some pics of my first FSCargo hop that CTD'd, bummer!! Was to Jorge Wilsterman too, so the surrounding scenery is from that.

Jamie

Thanks for the kit Bill, can't be to many real world liveries as yet I suppose, plenty fictional ones tho, I kinda fancy the idea of a poor-mans tilt-rotor for special ops insertions, etc. Gonna put her to use in the islands around the UK (Channel, Hebrides, Orkney & Shetland, etc.

Preformed a excellent Medical flight from Trinidad, Cuba to MUGM NAS. I need a nurse in the back lol:whistle:.
