FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

Ian, the 'burner flames for the good old FSD T-38 *should* be about the right size. :unsure:
Shessi did the last T-38 update package that I know about, I'm not sure if he also updated the FX files?

Thanks for the tip, but i think the AB is built into the model, im not great at messing with CFG's but it seems there's no place for it. These are the only entries in the area it should be, Adding any AB dosent seem to make any difference
[smokesystem]
smoke.0 = -12.00, -19.00, -2.00, fx_eng_exhaust_gry
smoke.1 = -12.00, -19.00, 2.00, fx_eng_exhaust_gry

I've had a look at my install ; I have a 2 seater with better effects; Alpha model re-worked by UKMil (available at Simviation IIRC) fyi afterburner is in lights section

Code:
[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

light.0 = 6,  -16.00, -14.50,   -1.00, fx_jaguarvortices //----Vortex
light.1 = 6,  -16.00,  14.50,   -1.00, fx_jaguarvortices //----Vortex
light.2 = 9, -19.90, -1.50, -2.50, fx_jaguarflame //----Afterburner
light.3 = 9, -19.90,  1.50, -2.50, fx_jaguarflame //----Afterburner
light.4 = 9, -19.90, -1.50, -2.50, fx_jaguarburner //----Afterburner
light.5 = 9, -19.90,  1.50, -2.50, fx_jaguarburner //----Afterburner
light.6 = 4, 9.89, 0, 0.23, fx_vclight                // Original Alphasim VC Lighting

Ian, you're correct that the AB flames are a part of the MDL but you could try adding some FX flames as shown by MM.
Note that a couple of the numbers "flip" between the smoke and lights entries.

Been playing in the Netherlands, scenery of NL2000

2 pew Jag needs the curve of the earth to get off and I hope you're landing that F.2a Ian otherwise you've left a bit late to get the undercart tucked up;)
Ah, if you had looked closely the speedbrake deployed you will see.
As for the 2 holer Jag...it was Jag's in general , at Laarbruch we put a sign up asking them not to taxi in reheat!

Hi guys,

The last 3 weeks I have been in France. In the place where I stayed internet was nearly non-existing, so I haven't been online for a while

Finally I had enough time to read Derek Robinson's novel "Piece of cake", which I liked very much.
A well written novel, and its very interesting to read an historian's view on the events during the period from invasion of Poland until the end of the battle of Britain. I can imagine some people will not like the book as it questions some of the myths people have accepted as the truth.

When I came home I had to fly the fabric winged Hurricane. I think I will do a fictional repaint of an early Hurricane belonging to Hornet squadron.

Below two pictures of the "Pont des Aliés" in Thionvile in 1939. So this must have been the bridge from Moggy. The bridge doesn't really matches the description in the book. But according the description in the French article over this bridge, it was the only bridge over the Moselle in Thionville during 1939. This bridge was constructed in 1846 and partially blown up by the French in 1940 to slowdown the advance of the German troops. After the war a new bridge was constructed to replace this one. This post war bridge matches the description in the book much better.......

Welcome back Huub, funny how our holiday reading effects what we fly, ive got James Holland's "Savage Storm" on the go at the moment, a history of the Italian campaign from the Salerno landings to Dec 43. This is a shot of DCC P38J with a Morton paint, over Naples, Oct 43

Thanks guys.

Perhaps there is a simple reason why our reading effect our choice of aircraft we fly in. I assume you have the same problem as I have. Far too many aircraft and not enough time to fly them all. So you have to make choices. And books just help you to make them.

And Dave Copley's P38 are classics!

When I was in France, there was a Stampe SV4 replica and gyrocopter flying over us nearly every day.

Like every year the French Air Force. or "l'armée de l'Air et de l'Espace" as they are currently called, passed by several times.
Thery showed their Airbus 400M aircraft and the Pilatus PC21 trainers. No Mirages or Rafales this time.

I have just purchased two other titles from Derek Robinson. I hope I will be able to read them before my next holiday ;)

Cheers,
Huub

Your comments regarding what we fly due to the books we are reading struck a familiar cord. I'm currently reading " Luftwaffe Fighter-Bombers over Britain" by Criss Goss, et al, (superbly interesting). I find myself flying Bf-109E 4/B to see how hard that might be to do.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who reads history, then tries to simulate it. Great fun!
