FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

Would be interesting to see a comparison to the Aerosoft Mega Airport Amsterdam Schiphol Scenery… from above… wonder what area the old Airport was back then and which buildings are now where and which ones where there back then and are still standing…

Not sure, if this was the old schiphol airport... as i seem to recognize some taxiways...

As per Google Maps imagery, it seems to be exactly the same area now:
Nice to see that they even added a football court and what it looks to me, even a tennis court.

The current Schiphol airport was constructed west of the original airport form the early 60-ties until current. The original airport is still part of the airfield, but doesn't have any passenger terminals. The old runway from the old airport is still in use, but only for small aircraft.

I think this YouTube movie explains it much better than I can.... (and the airport even expanded more after 2016 where this movie ends)

ah okey, so according to the video, this seems to be the Apron, where the old Airport used to be. Just off Runway 22/04.

The main platform is still there, and it was already there before WWII. The Aerosoft scenery isn't completely on par with the current situation. The Chinese restaurant "Boeddha" already has had several successors. Currently there is a restaurant called Wings bar & Bistro.

The building which you label "old terminal building" isn't there anymore. Recently a new cargo terminal was added there. And I wonder whether it really was "the old terminal building". Because when it was located I think it was located, there was a huge hangar from the Fokker factory in front of that building.

The 1940 version by Cees Donker shows the same large platform. Most of the 1940 airfield was constructed in 1928, when the Olympics were held in Amsterdam. A replica from the 1928 station building is constructed at Lelystad aiport, inside the Aviodrome, which is our national aviation museum.

Cheers,
Huub

Trying out another long-term "what if?" project. :wiggle:

Every couple of years I get the itch to reload the Alphasim CF-105 Arrow.
Shown here above CFB Cold Lake (CYOD) from MAIW. Callsign would either be NIGHTMARE 206 or CANFORCE 206.
The repaint is a "modern" (1970's?) CF-105 I found over at AVSIM. So far, I've tweaked the VC lights to the stock "orange" light for the cockpit and green for the RIO in the back seat plus I made some changes to the over-all gray paint (still a W.I.P.) and gave the pilot an orange "arctic" flight suit and a bright red helmet for intercept missions above the tundra.
If the Arrow had gone into full production, I'm guessing they would have been stationed at Cold Lake, Bagotville, and Comox.
MAIW's CFB Cold Lake AFCAD can be edited in AFCAD2 so I've "trued" the control tower view position and changed parking spot #101 from Mil-Cargo to Mil-Combat. This is a handy parking spot inside a hanger that "ground" will have you park in and it also makes for a dandy Alert pad.
