A true Snake in the Grass

This machine has to be one of my favorite aircraft flown by the US Army. It just looks lethal and slick. This thing was the true proof of concept of the attack copter over Vietnam. Here she screams above the crests of the mountains in southern California.....

When I was in the Army back in the 80's and 90's we had the Ah-1F (Prod, mod, ecas and a bunch of names I cant remember) and I was always impressed by them. I had a friend who was a Cobra pilot and he was always telling me about how flying from the front seat was very awkward because of the side stick. It struck me as odd that the Cobra had a sight system attached to the helmet and it wasn't a big deal, but the Apache has one that is wireless and its all super cool and neeto. Same idea just different implementations. One of these days Im going to go for a ride in one we have here at Falcon.

As a kid I was fascinated by the Cobra! Great shots!

Biggles tour continues

[biggles]

Well , Ginger and Algy finally caught up with me in Cyprus ; they were a little worse for wear and singing a little ditty about the good ship Venus; and its commander Mr Poop-Decker.

As promised a set of floaty things were bolted on, and after some taxi trials in the local harbour it was off to sea; thankfully I still had the extra fuel tank in the front cockpit; I passed along the Grecian coast ; then up into the Adriatic; where I cadged a top up of petrol from some colonial Navy types exercising in the area ; mind you they called it 'Gas-O-Line'

So on up and across the Adriatic to Italy (Venice to be exact) for now

Then to decide to wait for Ginger and Algy again, and convert back to a wheeled aeroplane , or stick with floats and make it back to Calshot ?

Thanks goodyzero, much appreciated. Had a quick look but can't find it yet but will try again later. I assume it's in the FS2004 section?

Cheers
