Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

The Nieuport 17 C1 arrived at the front in May 1916 and was soon considered the best aircraft around. It was flown by many aces, like Billy Bishop, Albert Ball, Charles Nungesser and George Guynemer. However by 1917 it had already become obsolete with the arrival of the Albatros D.III. And soon it was replaced by aircraft like the SPAD S.VII.

When my friend Michel Miguad did this lovely model in 2009, I promissed myself to do some repaints for it. And after 17 years I finally started working on one. It is a standard generic French livery based on a photo in one of the Windsock publications. It will be the start of several repaint I have planned for this model, including a "Flyboy" livery. It is still work in progress, so the final release might look slightly different.

Special Guest in Manchester today... left Manchester in the Early Morning. Usually there's an A350-942 Flying this Leg to Singapore Changi…
but today it was the A380.

Thanks Huub, very nice shots. Where it's based ad does it lands? Have you some pictures from there too?

Bernard,

There aren't that many World War One airfields for FS2004, but in this case I fly from Verdun (Le Rozelier). It is MoCat's 1916 Flyboys scenery, but I really can't remember where I found it ( But I trust somebody here will be able to provide the answer ).

Other nice World war One scenery is RFS Stow Maries in the remembrance package by the Military AI Works group.

When my memory is still correct there use to be some simple scenery included in the original Alphasim Royal Factory S.E.5 package (some tents and a static S.E.5 ). However this is not included in the freeware version which is still available.

Cheers,
Huub

Hubb, that's fine. I have both sceneries installed. So the Nieuport will soon be guest there as well. Your are right about the lack of WWI airfields. There is also "West Front" with Douai and Abbeville. But wolfebee would certainly find some further ones!

Bonifacio, more precisely, I guess
good guess, but diametrically opposite - near about Calvi Sainte-Catherine

what about Joe Binka's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, across the pond, in NY https://library.avsim.net/extsearch...rch[author]=Binka&extended_search[category]=0 together with the ORA AI Plus Package Parts 1-3 compiled by Mick Morrissey @Mick available here in the SOH Resources Library - very atmospheric and rather thematically reminiscent of the 'Flyboys' time period

Edit: Old Rhinebeck by @Binka is also available right here in SOH Library
