Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

Michael Vader's Piasecki HC-21 with fictious "Air Brittany" textures over the Brittany lighthouses of Eckmuhl at French Atlantic coast.

These lighthouses are part of "Phares de Bretagne" scenery package. It includes several of the most well-known lighthouses in the area. I acquired it almost ten years ago as payware. But once again, the scenery isn't available anymore. Luckly that Michael's nice repaints are still free. Merci pour le beau travail!

nice stars… is that a particular Addon? i do not know the stars to be that bright in my sim… Looks awesomely close to reality…

Btw. i may should do more nightflights too… haven’t flown during nightfall or even during the night for quite a long time now.

Thanks, what a shame it ain't available anymore
Indeed… it is a pretty nice model… however, the Panel could need some revamping… as it definitely shows its age… no wonder, the real one has been retired as well allready… most of them latest active ones were over thirtyfour years old. Some of them still fly at Cargo Airlines such as Fleetair.eu.

Edit: I’m actually wrong… even they retired them… and they now fly ATR’s… so none active there anylonger… sadly…
Only ones still active in Europe, are those at NyxAir, Sprint Air, AirEst and RAF-Avia.

Of 459 ever built Saab 340, only 23 remain active in Europe…

The textures are converted ORBX (slightly illegal). )))))))
Nessie was somewhere, but I forgot which part of the lake, and I didn’t bother looking. ))

The movie Flyboys is entertainment and definitely not history. The Nieuports in the movie fly like a JSF and (nearly) all Germans fly red Fokker Dr.1s, most likely to make them recognisable for the untrained eye.
One funny thing I noticed is that there are differences between the Nieuport replicas on the ground and their CGI versions in the air.

The movie version

The FS2004 version in the MoCat's 1916 Flyboys scenery (The Fokker Dr.1 didn't arrive at the front before the second half of 1917.... while the Nieuport 17s were already withdrawn from front line duties beginning 1917....)

And paint is weight..... and the tricolores on the wings and fuselage were normally only worn by French Aces and not by rookies.

The Rhinebeck Aerodrome has the aircraft used in the movie on loan from the New England Air Museum.
But for those who have seen the movie, I hope this repaint is recognisable ;)

Cheers,
