FS9 Freeze!!!

What are the likely causes for FS9 freezing when a particular aircraft is loaded?

It freezes every time one specific a/c is loaded.

It doesn't crash (no CTD) nor does it quit; it simply stops and will not respond to anything!

I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out of it.

I get this with some aircraft. It is usually a gauge causing the freeze. Remove the panel folder and see if this helps. If removing the panel folder fixes the problem, then you can // out each gauge until you find the one causing the issue.

I second Robert's suggestion that it is likely a gauge causing the lock up. Let us know what plane it is, who did it, and where, I'm sure others could test the plane to see if we get the same event on our systems. If so, then as a group we could better isolate the issue and correct it.

I will do the panel check, but first I should give you additional input--

The problem started when I edited the FDE (air file). I found that eliminating section 512 also eliminated the freezing. But there were other problems, so I took a break. A couple of days later I installed another "borrowed" airfile and on the first load, FREEZE! And yes, this airfile also has a section 512, but so do many other FDEs in other a/c that do not freeze. So I'm wondering....

The a/c is Ito's JU EF-112 :icon_lol: (file: ju_ef112.zip)

Section 512 is a propeller parameter required for piston engines but not for jets the reason why some planes do and others do not have it.

Mr Ito has it set up as a twin jet not a twin piston engine, bunging in a airfile for piston engines require the aircraft. cfg to be modified to piston engine and propeller parameters added including change of fuel type, compare aircraft.cfg of a working piston engined aircraft and a working jet aircraft, get the engines right first.

Thanks Rich. I made the mistake of using Ito's original CFG instead of the one I had already altered. Thanks again.
