FSX Douglas C-117D Skytrooper

Ok, I checked why the RMI is not displaying correctly: The compass rose
bitmap has been enlarged but that messed up the whole gauge. There is
another problem with the background bitmap of that gauge.

So, would say, the fastest way to fix the RMI ist to use that gauge from
Manfred's Basler BT-67. To do this you must locate the file BT67_HD.CAB
in the Basler PANEL folder. Create a copy of that CAB and place it in the
C-117D PANEL folder. Then, as a last step, edit the PANEL.CFG file and
change the following line in the [Vcockpit02]-section:

Change the line

gauge03=R4D8_HD!rmi, 12,341,98,98

into

gauge03=BT67_HD!rmi, 12,341,98,98

That should do it.

Btw, excellent repaints, guys! Great job! :applause::applause::applause:

I have the Basler BT 67 V2 and I have a BT67HD.CAB but not the BT67_HD.CAB
that you mentioned. Is there a newer version of this plane? Would using
the BT67HD.CAB work?

Hm, I assumed, I have the most recent version of that gauges installed. The
CAB on my Basler installation is named "BT67_HD". In the BT67_HD.CAB
is a file called "release3". If you can find that file in your CAB as well, I would
assume they are identically and for what I can say, it should be the most
recent version, too.

To find out, if the RMI in your CAB is working, just install it according to
my description. If it displays ok, and if you can use the two knobs to
switch the two needles between ADF1/2 and NAV1/2, it should be fine.

I don't have any of what you mentioned. Sounds like you have a version or release 3.
Could you pls PM me with a link to the version you have?

Thanks :engel016:

Every now and then, amoung all the freeware releases, along comes something truly special. IMO this C-117D is well and truly in that class. I just can't stop flying this incredible aircraft.

Just want to express my gratitude to all concerned in the developement of this addon, and also to the repainters for making it even better!

A GREAT addon for a GREAT hobby.

Thank you!!!!!

I agree, I like it very much.
I painted this particular aircraft earlier, as N82TN, but after finding a pic of it in Kenn Borek colors, with very flashy propellors, I could not resist..

I was unable to find the file BT67_HD.cab you referenced. The BT67 V.2 uses Cessna208B_Basler.cab for the rmi gauge.

If you have a link as to where this may be downloaded, it would be appreciated.

With Manfred's permission I am re-working the bumps for the C-117. Also look for the C-47 Skytrain at some point. This is definitely a worthy model.
I just downloaded Jankees "Ken Borek"...mannnn it's really nice. The slow start with these props is just too good. Nice one JK.

Thanks G and Jan for some awesome repaints. Thanks Manfred and team for a payware quality aircraft that's stunning and freeware! :salute:

Hey Butch... I actually used a jeep as a follow me in one of my old videos.

Thought you guys might like a sneak preview of the M Jahn C-47. I'm working on the skins now, and developing a comprehensive paint kit. So far I've added wing rivets and an enhanced bump map. WIP shots...
Caveat: I'm aware this is a civilian paint on the wrong C-47 type, but I couldn't resist. We'll wait and see what Manfred puts together for the release...maybe a civie and military version.
