FSX Douglas C-117D Skytrooper

It seems that sloppy aircraft maintenance is not just restricted to the virtual US Navy. :blind: :icon_lol:

Great paint!

Bernard, when you ever start an airline, I don't think I become one of your regular customers. Maintenance isn't a priority for you when I look at your repaints! :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Nevertheless a great repaint again!

You've never flown Air France then. :icon_lol:

(Google: "Air France dirty")

Sure, when you see à dirty plane, it is certainly a french plane and probably an Air France plane ! Really, you know very well France and French men! It's well know we never have showers...of course planes and cars !

What else ? You have of course a brilliant sense of humour. I can't disagree!

A question of tire treads

I noticed that gmans chuting stars has treads on the tires. How can the tread lines be painted when the tire profiles on the DDS file are sideways.

How can I make more of a tire tread effect for the DC3 or any of these douglas planes?

Bjoern and gastonj, please stop this useless discussion. The last thing we need here is an other French German War.

When you really feel you need to say something about the other one's country take something positive. This thread is about a Skytrooper, so pleaee keep with the original subject.

Thanks,
Huub

Yes, i do but note i didn't say anything negative about any country. The Google's refs did links to posts with all outrageous "clichés" about France and french men!

Update: MJ's C-117D is currently revised to v2. For now I've been working on improving the smoke effects.

I didn't want to be a hijacker

I posted this in the C-47 V3 because I found it looking for some repaints for that absolutely fantastic aircraft. Instead of further in that thread I am posting these where they belong. This too is a fantastic aircraft. I would like to see though, if someone who knows a whole lot more than I do, make a vintage cockpit for this aircraft. If there is a volunteer I have original NATOPS manuals for it on PDF that I could share the information for the panel because VC is in the MDL file. Saw it in MDCX but its not mine to revise if I DID know how. Anyway here are my two repaints that I did to this great aircraft. Please don't construe my panel request as any critism or ingratitude in the least. I love flying this aircraft. Without further ado here are shots of my first two repaints:

Yes, you bet

Nice! Will you be uploading the repaint? I like it! NC

Here a two shots of the C117D Miramar just landed and taxied into parking at out homefield. I will be submitting both the textures in the repaint section to share. Both them are mods and the readme will have full credit where credit is due. These are not my originals but modified from the included texture 17191 file in the download here.

Uploads of Midway and Miramar textures

Gordon-GMAN got back to me last night with his blessing (the original texture was his, just modified by me) and I have uploaded both textures to the Warbirds Library. If you click new, last I looked they were the first two on the list. Else, click new and page down and enjoy.
