FSX native Fokker D XXI RELEASED

The new version flies and shoots fine. The FM really is an improvement over the first version. This must be the first WWII plane with TP integration. Well done, Daan!
Cees, are you still working on your Eindhoven scenery with the F.XXXVI? It would be a really nice place to fly the D.21 from!

It was on the forum, the beta I mean. Search for 'Hollland May 1940'. Must go to Eindhoven one of these days to take photographs of the building i missed last winter.

Hi guys! Strangely enough, I was able to see the file already... Hmm.. Anyway, it's now yours :D Thanks for the positive comments friends!

I suddenly realized myself that I forgot to include the improved light effects. Those flying the 1940 bird, won't be seeing the lights, since they have a different name. I'll upload a bugfix today.

Simply fantastic!!!

:wavey::applause:
Thank you so much for this wonderful addition...
It was well worth the wait... Great model, great textures, everything about it what I had wished for...
BTW... will it fly in FS9... or do you plan to make an FS9 version?
I was so excited I promptly cooked up a wide 2D panel for it... in hopes it will fly in FS9 sometime...

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the comment! Though I've been thinking about making an FS9 version too, I haven't done it yet and I'm not sure whether I will ever do. I can't promise things, alas. Maaaaybe this summer...
...
Man, I've got a lot of things to do this summer! T.5, D.21 Denmark, extra 1938 skins, visit some musueums, ....

Today at the memorial (which was a correct tribute) I encountered something very special (very special for me at least): an original piece of a D.21!

On of the speakers this afternoon was Lieut. Gen. Ret. Ben Droste, whose father was a D.21 pilot in May 1940. He ripped, after having to land his D.21, the Fokker logo from the tail. Mr. Droste showed the piece of fabric during his speech today. As you might understand (or not :p) I went just crazy. I made a screenie from the same thing on my FSX D.21 below. We were allowed to examine the thing very closely. It's beautiful and very special!

Thanks to Penz for helping me out with some Danish texts. I was able to asseble this Danish D.21 cockpit in the last weeks, did an export yesterday. Doesn't look bad. Instrument faces and some labels have to be done still.

Indeed, never enough Fokkers Cees ;)

And guess what? Today I got an e-mail from PCPilot, they asked permission to include the D.21 V2.00 on their cover disk :jump:

Congratulations Daan, quite an achievement with your first FSX model! :encouragement:

I assume you have the book Monograph No 1. Fokker D-XXI Dutch & Danish service by Warren Ebenspracher. There are some very usable drawings in this book from the Danish instruments & panel. Although it can be quite confusing as the drawings sometimes don't match with the photographs in this book.

Cheers,
Huub

Hi Daan

That Danish panel looks great so far :)

Will the finished version come with Danish repaints as well?

Regards
Kim
