FsX native freeware aircraft list

Good catch OleBoy! From the zip dive it is an FsX native with 2 mdl files. Will download later.

Just updated the list With Paul Gausden: BAM Swallow (Britsim).

Sorry I forgot that Paul:redf:

Tom Ruth's Native FSX DC-10

Already in the list (Tom Ruth's Native FSX DC-10), but she deserves some screenshots. Here with Tom's 727-200 virtual cockpit, while waiting for Tom's DC-10 VC. It's easy to attach the 727 VC, will post the recipe later in the DC-10 thread...

Too bad Jens Kristensen's Comet is not (yet) converted to FSX native, with the Simshed Nimrod VC, she would look terrific!

Is it really hard to convert to FSX native a FS9 model? (when the source files are available). I'd like to hear an opinion by a developper...

Top: Richard Sorochak Kauai scenery (ironscenery_hawaii-kauai-rs.zip at flightsim). Bottom: PNW Orbx scenery.

Yes, it is difficult. I've done it 3 times and said "Never Again". I use FSDSv3.51 as my design tool so my comments only apply to that situation. You have to redo all the animations, get rid of key frames etc. Redoing all the .dds textures is not so bad but can lead to jaggies etc. Frankly, I find it easier to convert from FS9 source code to FSX rather than the other way around. Others may have had different experiences.

Best, Paul

PS, Roger, Don't forget my recent Boeing B-9. Thanks

Euhmm did I miss something? As I don't see the Craig Richardson's Classic Wings Do28 on the list.

Cheers,
Huub

One plane was converted by me to basic FSX standards in six hours.

BUT: It had a low part count and it didn't include any improvements which I included afterwards.
Still, FS9 -> basic FSX = six hours.

I obviously got the question backwards; I thought he was asking if it was difficult to convert from FSX back to FS9. I do find that difficult; it took me over a week to back convert my Howard DGA. As Bjoern suggests, from FS9 to FSX is not all that bad.

Ironically, that post was based on a topic that I created right here on S-O a few years ago, before one of the hackity-crashes took out the post database. :(

Remember it well Denny!:engel016:
This thread is an attempt to recreate that earlier enthusiasm for capturing all the freeware aircraft available.

Rog:thats mean:173go1:just like dangling a carrot in front of an ass:icon_lol:it seems i am missing a lot

Roger, I think I'm missing the Bristol Fighter by Rober Bruce.

Hi Huub,
It's there, fifth up from the bottom.
Ideally we would convert the list into a spreadsheet which would make it more accessible to those with MS Office or Open office. Any takers:jump:?

Cheers,

Roger.
