Gonna take a lot of 'finessing' before this one's done.
Getting the right effect for peeled/burnt paint takes a bit....particularly as it's almost random in placement...[on the real critter]..;)

Thankyou, great memories of seeing Lightnings in real life at RAF St.Mawgan Air day, always been a favorite.
Yep, mine too; I can remember the last time I saw one, at Plymouth air show; and feeling the vibration inside my chest as it did a near vertical climb on full reheat! Truly AWESOME!

Chippie..

Don't want to seem derogatory toward the JF/AH model and I hope my comments aren't taken as such.

Suffice to say.. the Aerosoft models (there are currently 2 which you'll have to buy separately if you want a full house) are a little more refined in just about all areas. They're more challenging.. more realistic if you will. If you're not that fussed, there's no need to spend the extra cash as the JF model aint bad. The Aerosoft models are newer and it shows;)

Hey I jay,
How does this Lightning compare, with the JF example?
ChipShop
Pretty much go with what Dave says in his post.....
"Suffice to say.. the Aerosoft models (there are currently 2 which you'll have to buy separately if you want a full house) are a little more refined in just about all areas. They're more challenging.. more realistic if you will."

And as he says not knocking either one......Hell i bought both!!
I'm just a sucker for the Lightning..............still got all the Alpha one's installed too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reasonably happy with the burnt paint version.... following from various photos....

I guess it kept the painters in a job....;)

Ive proly said this before, but i knew Al White quite well, this wiki " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvin_S._White " says he retired to and died in AZ,he may well have died there (he did),but he lived just down the street from me in Auburn Ca,for many years,my grandpa and my dad knew his dad very well as he worked for the city for a long long time,he and my dad catologed every cty sewer and lateral in town,he and dad then made a "book" of all the man made sewer cleanouts in town as well, since my dad and grandpa ,along with a man named Johnny Dozier, made most of the cleanout holes..lol..i too made a few,man what we got away with back then..lol....anyway,Al and his brother also belonged to a group called the Shanghai golf touring team,,,made up mostly of businessmen and city hotshots,i,my mom and dad and a few others created the club, but the yahoos in town ruined it,its now defunct.he lived here for many years then moved,Bud Anderson (Old Crow) now lives in his home.sad thing is,i didnt apprieate him for who he was back then, all i cared about was working hard enoough to make enough money to race, drink and chase tail....that got me a broke, broken and broken hearted............

One of the 'hardest' things to do is search through all the XB-70 photos and try to 'avoid' the demise of 20207 [a sad day for all].... particularly when without a doubt the Valkyrie defines the pinnacle of Military flight [or any form]. Nothing has had the same 'wow-factor' before or since.
Not within a country mile ...;)

Perhaps to be able to chat to Al White cos he was a neighbor.....now that would have been amazing.

There are two model sets available from Aerosoft for the Lightning - with a couple of bonus external models thrown in for free.
The F3 also gives you the F1/1A/2 externals, using the F3 FDE and VC.
The F6 gives you the F2A external model, using the F6 FDE and VC. It comes separately because the guns were in a different place.

The Aerosoft offerings are also TacPack-enabled.

I did ask for the T4/5 as well, but the developer felt he'd had enough.

Dave - not biased in any way.

Yes, I do see what you mean! I think I'd certainly give it a go!
However, I'm having rather a lot of problems with my FSX not running properly at the moment, so I won't be buying anything just yet! Lol!
