MHO, FSX shows KMRY much better than MSFS, with sharper detail.
Inspired by Duckie's repaints I did a repaint for the Alphasim F-86, which I purchased many years ago. Not Alphasim's best model, but easy to fly and good enough for me
A F-86 Sabre from 32 Day Fighter Squadron (Wolfhounds) over the Netherlands in 1955. 32 Fighter Squadron was stationed in the Netherlands at Soesterberg AB from 1954 until 1994.

Interesting to hear this. Jarrad Marshall's Orbx KMRY Monterey is one of the very best addon GA airports you can find.
Nice one Huub. I have a friend (retired airline pilot) who flew with the 32nd in 54-55. Never new he flew F86s until one day he wore his F86 lapel pin. Our friendship reached a whole new level!
Thanks Steve,
When I arrived at Soesterberg AB in 1977 the Sabres were already long gone and 32 TFS was flying the F-4E. When I left in 1983 the F-15C and F-15D were already replacing the F-15As which were introduced from autumn 1978 onwards.
In November 1954 512th Fighter-Day-Squadron, which was stationed at RAF Manston moved to Soesterberg AB. Sumnmer 1955 the squadron was more or less re-named in 32 FDS, while the name 512th FDS moved back to England (Bentwaters) but only in name. From end summer 1956 the F-86 was replaced by the F-100C.
The name Wolfhounds was used by them as the original 32 Fighter Squadron was patrolling against German U-boats (Wolfpacks) in the Caribean during WWII.
Making reflective textures on this old model is a nightmare. The model has too much specular shine. Therefore I'm still not really pleased with how the textures show up and the rivets on the wings are far too visible.... The model was released already in 2007, when we obviously were still easier to satisfy.
Cheers,
Huub
Winter 1958 A Super Sabre from 32 TFS at Wheelus AB for shooting practice
Work in progress (also!)
Hey, MZee! Thanks for the comment. I haven't posted screenshots in a very long time. This is the Warbirdsim Mustang Tales P-51D. The repaint is from John Terrell, found with many others at AVSIM, and probably here too.
