fun large scale RC plane vid

Ok, thanks very much for the explanation, RD, sounds pretty cool ! I'll certainly keep that in mind should i inadvertedly stumble inside an RC hobby shop. It's been years since i've been in such a shop. I suppose a lot must have changed. I am extremely happy with Real Flight for a couple years already. There's only a couple things missing from what i remember from my RW RC flying experience : the wind in my hair (what's left of it anyway ), the smell of burned methanol, and two sour fingers... But great fun it was ! cheers, jan

Trust me Javis, you really don't want to go into a hobby shop. There have been all kinds of improvements to RC airplanes. In my opinion, one of these is the radios. Most everyone in my club uses 2.4 frequency now. No longer any need to make sure no one else is on your FM frequency.

The other big improvement is in electric powered airplanes. I think moderler has gone completely electric. I have both. Still like to hear the engines running along with the smell of exhust fumes. My son and I are going out the the flying field this afternoon for a little flying. I want to test fly my 80 inch wingspan J-3. I just swapped out a 2 stroke engine for a 4 stroke.

Horizon Hobbies just sent out an e-mail announcing the release of a 50 inch wingspan electric Piper J3. Man! that baby looks really good. I will most likely end up with one.
