Testing will conclude this week and then final tweaks over the weekend. I expect to have her out the door and up on our site by a week from Friday. The enthusiasm from the FS9 crowd has been inspirational and we won't forget you again.

nest up for is the Boeing 247 and we're in the research phase now. Plan to start it by September. Currently mucking around with some old FS9 friends that the FSXers would like to see made native.

That is great to hear. I'm sure quite a few FS9'ers feel the same way about you folks. We'll be lined up and waiting when the Lockheed is released.

A Boeing 247 sounds fantastic. Aside from Jens Kristensen's excellent model, it's been a woefully overlooked aircraft in FS....

C'mon already! I am a real estate guy who might be broke by the time I can buy it. (whimper, whimper).

Okay Okay :icon_lol: Testing is completed and the model will be up on our website Friday around 5 pm EST. It might be up sooner on our vendor partner sites and if that occurs, I'll update the forum. I just cannot predict how long it takes them to add it to our product page once I upload the model and content to them.

The wait is almost over, thanks for being patient

The wait is over. It will be available through our website by 5:30 pm EST today. Its out our vendors as well and will be available as they update their offerings.

It's up on Simmarket now. Just purchased and downloading as I type. Many thanks!

Update - Great work to the GAS team! The VC is fantastic and it flies beautifully. I'm so glad that FS9 models are still being produced by you folks.

I do have one question, though: is there any way to substitute the virtual cockpit Sperry autopilot & radio setup from the C-40 into the virtual cockpit of the L-12? Not a complaint, just curious...as I like the period look of the Sperry. I tried subsituting/swapping the appropriate gauges, but it looks like the physical radio positions are hard-coded into both models.

Thanks again!

Now my L10A has a dance partner -- cool!! Can't wait for some interesting repaints for this baby.

BTW, here is my interpretation of lights & stuff for "Junior."

As you have observed, they are indeed hard coded to each model. The only option would be a re-model which unfortunately is not an option at this time

Spad,

many thanks for letting me test this one (and for building it for us 9ers), it's been an honour and a privilege. Have flown NOTHING else since I got it. If I missed anything you guys can blame me*, lol.
Soon as the boss sees fit to pay me I'll grab another add-on as a thank-you (sort of, been eyeing a few up for a while now anyway).

racartron, I found the shockwave beacon was visible in the VC so swapped it for the _nl version (no light (emmitter)). I also added some cabin lights..

light.xx = 10, -0.32, 0, 3.10, fx_vclight
light.xx = 10, -4.37, 0, 3.10, fx_vclight

...change xx to suit and replace the default VC light with one of your own choice.

happy days,
Jamie

*I wasn't alone by any means but I've made it kinda obvious I was testing it.

Sounds good. Thanks for the response.

Jamie, thanks for the additional tweaks. These things take some time to get 'em jest right.

Also, I noticed that three of the L12A liveries have extra bmps included. Are these of any value?

texture.NC2633
texture.NC18130
texture.NC18906

Have the following extra bmps:
engine_Cont_220.bmp
Engine_WASP_BASIC.bmp
L12a_blackwrinkle.bmp

Yup, finally got me some of THAT! And thank you racartron for the shock wave shtuff!!! :guinness:

ps- what the allotted time from throttle to bottle?

The videos and pics look great and I'm sure the flight model is well-tuned. Unfortunately, being interested in the history of aircraft far more than the good looks I'm saddened to see the available cockpits both have 'resto-mod' panels with post 1950's radios. I'd rather have one that reflects the original 1935 set-up with an early ADF and 'fake' HF radio mounted above the windscreen like this:
View attachment 44861View attachment 44863 (second pic is an L-10) ... or behind the crew seats in the C-40. Modern radios could still be provided via pop-ups.

I realize most people want to fly in "today" and I also understand the constraints the modelers face as far as multiple models are concerned (the hard-coded panels from FSX make it more work too) but it's nice to also preserve/present the Golden Age as it was.

Rob
