GAS Stearman Misinformation

Greetings
Recently we have received emails from customers under the misapprehension that a there is an updated version of the GAS Model 75 V1.2 to that of a 1.5. I wish to confirm that there has been no update to the Model 75. The only model with a version number of 1.5 is the GAS IB75A Super Stearman which is a completely unique model requiring a separate purchase. While I'm sure regular followers of this forum are aware, I'm posting for the causal viewers in the hope of putting an end to the confusion that seems to have suddenly arose. Thanks

Paul,

Mail me please. I'd like to have the original mail sent to people forwarded as an attachment. With the info in the mail header, I can help you. So don't forward, mail the thing as an attachment.

Hi, well understood: there's no 1.5 update (or any other beyond 1.2) for the GAS Model 75.
But: might that be possible in the future?
I'm asking because I'm under the impression that, at some point, it was said it would have a future update with cowled engine, suitable for a Cannibal Queen livery. I might be wrong, though.
Anyhow, the Cannibal using a Lycoming 300hp engine, I think the GAS model 75 would be more adequate than the GAS IB75A Super Stearman.

Hello Stearman,

To be exact, there is no updated version for the model 75 currently ... Now we have to wait a little.
As much as it was possible to create a sound package quite easily under FSX and P3D with MSFS, the generation of a WWise set is a project in its own right and most of the time is subcontracted to another company (means of recording, recording and creation of the PCK set).

Such an operation costs several thousand dollars which therefore requires to be able to sell a minium of add-ons in order to be able to rentalilize these operations. In addition it requires to have some discussions with this company and plan what does not be done in a few days but takes a few months sometimes.
All this being conditioned to the fact that sooner or later, add-ons are distributed by malicious sites which destroys all these investments. So things are not that simple and it is often poker games for small businesses.
Wait an see ...

As an "old" developer, I always update my work as and when I have the opportunity, if only for me and to make the best work. So, the main changes (manifold management and flight model) that had been suggested by users were made and applied to my various source files.
That’s what I can say.

As for the Cannibal Queen, two things to remenber:
- as I said in the other discussion on the IB75A, this aircraft is actually based on an AN75N1, model that I already made at the end of last year.
- as this aircraft is still operated, so as not to have any copyright concerns, this repaint can only be offered in the form of a freeware; for the 3D model of the AN75N1 nothing has been decided.

Read this post: https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/gas-super-stearman-ib75a-pre-release-sale.164066:
This is an image of the AN75N1: it's based on a IB75A .... but with some modifications, see and find it :giggle:

On internet you can find at least two different versions of the noseart:
- a clean pin-up and
- another one a little more bare (without the top of the swimsuit) ;) .

While owned and flown by Stephen Coonts, as shown in the 1st paperback printing in 1993, the noseart figure was nude, and the Queen was not wearing wheel pants in any of the photos in the book.

Well, the nose art will be left to the interpretation of the artist and as for wheel pants they can be removed during the aircraft preflight.
