Glowing Heat B-58 Hustler for FSX on Flightsim Store!!!

Spit Shine...

Brought a little polish out to the old girl today...hand done...arm is sore, and it took all day....now, can someone please lend me an industrial polishing machine! John Terrell, where are you! ;) I have no idea what I'm doing, I've NEVER painted anything in FS before and this is my first go at it...so far, I've proven that there is in fact Aluminum under all the dirt, and I've got the elbow grease to do it...don't hold your breath though! LOL

an Orbital polisher!!!?! If the plane captain sees that he will unscrew your head and take a giant $#%! in your neck! Nevr-Dull and elbow grease! nothing else !
Kidding aside, looks nice with all that shiny stainless steel. Bought that one as soon as it came out, but still have not installed it. I guess I'll have to put it in if I ever crank up the sim again 'cause those are some nice looking repaints. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing that in the library.

If I do ever finish this one...it will be a miracle, among other things! But prior to that I believe I'm using one of DaveQ's fabulous repaints as the base and would need to get his permission to use it ad my science experiment anyway. I don't think anyone will want to try and claim responsibility for my hack job when I'm done anyways but just so all bases covered and proper credit is given... :)

You could post that one like it is once Dave Q approves. Kind of a real work in progress model. :applause:

It's the stock AB effect...no changes from me.

I use the SSW F-104 one; it's all a matter of what suits you. As for publishing repaints based on mine there's absolutely no problem. My readme already gives permission for such repaints, providing the original authors (me, Frank Safranek who did the original Alphasim paint kit and Glowingheat for the source bump maps) are acknowledged. Btw, are you using the original bumps? Mine give a bit of texture to the metal which might improve things a tad. Other than that looks really well polished!!

B-58 in Warpaint

Just uploaded. Two fictional Vietnam-era camouflage schemes, the first a (fictional) B-58D with uprated engines advanced terrain-following radar and laser guidance systems for low-level daylight interdiction, and the second an early B-58 leased to the RAAF and operated as a pathfinder by No. 1 Sqdn.

Next up will be a real one...!

Dave, to be completely honest, I have no idea what I'm doing so I can't really answer your qurstion! Haha...but I'm trying to read through some tutorials unfortunately they assume I know how to do certain things...which I don't...yet...

I am having a dilemma though, I've gone back and I'm attempting to change the alpha channels again but even though I save the trans.bmp it doesn't appear the way I saved it when/if I reopen the file lateron? Is this normal? I don't want to high jack this thread but maybe you can PM me and I could get some quick study notes from you regarding the process? I'll be out of town and be back Monday. Thanks Dave!

Outstanding what-if paints Dave.:applause: All ready added them to the growing fleet.
Rick, really looking forward to that polished up bird, she looks real good.:ernaehrung004:

Got the 'Nam ones.....

....and hanging out for the 'polished' one. Always had a soft spot for well-done metal...;)

59-2441 'Road Runner'

Available here now. 2441 about 4 months after winning the Thompson Trophy in 1962. The only photo I could find with the Road Runner artwork didn't give any clue as to how it looked but didn't seem to be Wile. E. Coyote's nemesis!!!

PS - This will be next.

RB-58A-10-CF, 58-1015 at Edwards AFB circa 1960, before it was heavily damaged when a tyre blew out on takeoff. It was subsequently rebuilt to B-58A standard and allocated to the 43rd at Carswell in 1962.

It wasn't a kit, I bought the plane at a garage sale years ago from a retired US Air Force Captain. Never thought I'd see someone bring "Ginger" back to life for FS! Nicely done!

Hi Dave,

Just on a note of accuracy of the Road Runner like Firefly, had red stripes. I found this image online:

Hope this helps.

Your repaints are fantastic Dave :ernaehrung004:

Hmm! I'm not so sure. Like all aircraft, these all went through a few different paint schemes and my photo suggests a) the stripes were different and b) appear as dark in b/w as the nose/anti-glare panel so possibly black. I'll change them and see what they look like. If someone has a clearer image of the artwork for Road Runner I'd like to add that at some point as well.

But thanks - I'm glad you like them.:encouragement:
