"Going to Reno"

Joseph, I can only mirror John's thoughts here. My cousin trained on the Mustang and arrived in the ETO long enough to fly a few missions before VE Day, and stayed as part of the occupation. He flew me around Lake Okeechobee FL several years ago and related many of his experiences. I treasure that time because I lost him two years ago and seeing him pass was torture. :blind: He was such a vibrant, active man... I look forward to seeing your posts... :salute::medals::icon29::USA-flag:

Not really related/kinda related, I really enjoyed one of Kermit Weeks' Facebook postings from just a few weeks ago, when he used his P-51C as a business plane. Being based in Florida, he had to quickly get to a business meeting in Georgia, and just hopped into "Ina" and not but an hour later he was where he needed to be, and within not much more than two hours he was back at Fantasy of Flight (this aircraft of course being one of the examples once owned/raced by Mantz, though it is quite a bit more stock and tamed than Mantz had it).
From one from my library , Paul Mantz .. was killed making the movie "Flight of the Phoenix" .... this his with his Muzzie .
