Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Golden Age Simulations Ends Operations

Spad54

SOH-CM-2026
After nearly 20 years of development of aircraft models for flight simulation, it is with mixed emotions that GAS has decided to cease operations, including product sales effective June 30 2025. Current vendors Just Flight, SimMarket, and the MS Marketplace have been informed and asked to suspend sales by that date. I have been assured that your purchase history is maintained on their servers allowing access to previously purchased models. Those direct purchasers from our website will be supported by us, limited to download replacement requests. In closing all of at GAS want to thank you all for your support and collaboration over the years.

Best to all

I am sadden by this news. I have immensely enjoyed your airplanes. However, being retired, I can understand that there becomes a time when you have just put the tools down and walk away. Thank you for your airplanes. I still have the Stearman to fly. Both here and 2024.

I'm really sorry to read that. Your Stearmans were very high quality addons and I was hoping you would just continue to produce more addons in that same direction.
Wishing you all the best. Thanks a lot for what you have done until now.

Hi,

As Paul warned me a few months ago already, I expected this post to be published sooner or later.

In July 2023 when Paul send me a first e-mail (via FSDeveloper), I was surprised, honored and finally worried. Worried about being able to meet the challenge he was asking me.
The two years spent in the company of Paul, Gil, and Jim were very very very interesting. I learned more about FS in 2 years than during the past 15 years. There are a good dozen new technical subjects that we have implemented, subjects that I did not know and despite everything, Paul fully trusted me in their realization ;)

Although I am 6 or 7 years younger than Paul, I still plan to continue in the FS creation for a few more years. I have some freeware projects in mind. An anecdote I remember is that when Paul sent me his first email, I was starting a seagull-winged Monocoupe 110 ... not to mention the Electra L12-A which I would have liked to build in October 2024 when the Model 75 were released and a new "Rhinebeck Airport" which can be achieved for MSFS ...

To conclude, I would like to thank Paul, Gil and Jim once again with whom I have not seen these 2 years pass and whom I now consider as my friends ... on the other side of the Atlantic or even near the Pacific.
I also don’t forget the whole TEAM of testers ( I don’t want to name all of you because if I forget one ... ) who were patient, who tried to help us as they could and if these planes pleased the buyers, they have a big part in these successes.

Thank you all.

I remember playing a small part in getting shots of some of the placards of the Stearman that belonged to the foundation I worked for to help out. It was an honor, and while it's sad its over, we can be happy it happened. Thank you for your work and your dedication for the craft through all these years!

Didier, you advanced GAS into the new age of simulation, something we did not have the resources to do internally and in doing so provided the refinement of our vision for the Stearman. You understand who we are and what we wished for flight simulation representing the Golden Age. You have full rights to use any of our previous projects as you deem appropriate to develop new projects and continue our vision. Many thanks our Friend

Sad news, indeed.
I can only say an inmense "Thank you very much" for what you've offered the community all these years.
Enjoy your deserved retirement!!

Sorry to hear that! I thought that you'd be continuing to build a library of classic aircraft. Hope all is well otherwise (y)
