Golden Age Simulations Stinson SR-8 Reliant

Hi
seen stinson before as a WIP...come to check SOH everyday and today is the first time I read about the discount for SOH members...missed it...

Will wait till next time...looks excellent..

Regards

That's great news - the new bolt and color adjustments make a big difference.
thank you for sharing your efforts with us - I can't wait to see more of your paints for the GAS Gull

The "GAS Gull" has a nice ring I like that.

Spad54,

Any plans to make a V77 /AT19 military model?

Dave

No, we don't plan on doing that version. The milspec version although looking very similar was quite a different in many ways. We'll be starting the Great Lakes Sport Trainer next.

large tail?
with the inverted cirrus engine?

multiple versions?
maybe a radial up front?

so many possibilities for the Great Lakes - I wouldn't mind a current version with the 200HP Lycoming plant but I know you guys focus on the vintage planes and that's
fine with ol' heywooood

I'm not jacked up or anything....carry on

Uploaded another gullwing a couple of hours ago. It hasn't been added to the library yet, but be patient.
Back to the hanger......

I agree - this is a nice paint too - and I see you chromed the step ladders and put 'no-skid' on the treads - nice detail

Reliant Expansion Mod Milspec SR-8

Some folks have asked if we were going to do the V-77 and alas we are not. That being said perhaps an SR-8 was impressed into service and perhaps it was flown by the Royal Dutch Navy, then perhaps it might have looked like this

This is a new compile of the model. New cowl, hub and texture map. It requires that the full package be installed. The mod can be downloaded from this link and will also be on our webpage and Facebook page tomorrow. If an admin could place it in the SOH library that would be grand

Thank you for the Military variant. I think it was spectacular of you to do that so quickly. It shows real commitment to your customers.

Hi Paul and All,

Thank you for your beautiful recreation of this plane. I like the way it flies, too!

I mention a couple of issues in case they can be resolved:

- I find I have to reload my plane sometimes after starting, to, well, get it started. Have primed the engine; turned on the battery and generator; tried it with mixture near cut-off and at full; throttle closed, slightly or more open. Hitting alt-a-a to reload the plane solves the problem.

- Similarly, and possibly related: the radios cut out after awhile in flight. Alt-a-a again solves the problem. I note the TRM light, which was green, on the shift-2 window, on Com1, can no longer be turned green when this happens, switching the knob and off makes no difference.

Clearly there are simply glitches in the electrical system, typical for a plane this old. ;)

Otherwise, flies like a dream! Your hard work much appreciated.

Best,
Steven

If u made any changes to the a/c cfg and/or the panel cfg be sure to back them up be for installing this, it puts them back to original.

anyone else having a problem with having all the electrics go dead after fliying for a while? Had it twice now in the 8E. the a/c cfg says electrics always on. If u reload the a/c then there on again for a while.

Hi Reddog,

Affirmative. I'm going to try changing the avionics bit in aircraft.cfg when I get home from work, might be as simple as that.

Note: I tried turning the generator off for awhile, thinking maybe that switch got wired backward? But then battery started to drain so that confirmed the generator is working correctly.

Although oddly, and this might have been wishful thinking, it seemed like I could resolve my start-up problem by doing so with generator OFF while the starter is running (battery on).... will recheck that as well.

What I did was coment out the Electrics section and put in the one from LHC's Pacer/TriPacer package and haven't had a problem since and that was days ago and flying the plane every day.

Panel textures

Which texture file in the Milspec model is the black panel insert, would like to put that in some of the others, also is there a way to get a all black panel inplace of the wood?

That sounds a little more ambitious than I'd want to be, taken as I am with the many, subtle mysteries of FSX..... is the LHC Tri-Pacer freeware?

If not, if it works at least it's hopefully a clue and we can all go from there.
