  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Full list of features, pricing and specs, seriously cannot wait for this to release. I really think and hope this will set the standard for classic GA aircraft in MSFS. Looks like amazing value for money too, and it'll be available other than just on MP.

Looks awesome! Also in this thread DigitalJonx announced that they will be releasing their Avitar Studio. By the looks of the screenshot we will be able to finally add custom pilots with mix and match clothing and get our pet co-pilots back.

Gotfriends have just released on their discord channel that the release will be delayed to mid -August as they are moving solely to selling on the market place. I think this is a retrograde step and have voiced my opinions to them. I have suggested they should have at least one other reseller outside the Marketplace they currently use Contrail -but will be stopping sales from them. It seems they have issues finding the time and resources running their own storefront and coordinating files for another -although that excuse seems a bit 'thin' to me.. The 'marketplace' is in violation of consumer law in many European countries, due to their policies on refunds, not giving dated receipts for purchase etc. plus you do of course not own 'the entire aircraft', but I doubt anyone will take the mighty Microsoft to court over this.. If anyone else agrees please voice your opinions to Gotfriends. A pity I will seriously have to consider not purchasing this or any of their future products. From a business perspective it's always a bad idea to rely on one outlet for your sales -I have seen so many smaller businesses go tits up because of that....

It's why I live in Bulgaria most of the time and paid cash for my houses.....and all of my toys.......... nothing on credit. I could quite easily go off -grid if the power and water companies get too greedy.. Nice fast flowing clear mountain stream runs behind the house -plenty of sun for solar -my elderly neighbours grow most of their own food, and I am trying to learn from them despite not being 'green fingered'..... During Covid I could go out and walk around with the dog in the countryside and barely see another soul. If I go into town and have 3-4 cars in front of me I think I'm in a traffic jam.......It's quiet! No crowds! Nobody living on top of each other -little stress. When I go on a yearly visit to the UK to see family and friends and hit 'western Europe' an the Austrian /Hungarian border everything changes - it's just so busy and nosiy.......

I made it to almost 57 without a credit card, just used debit cards or cash but I'm trying to buy a home through a VA home loan but needed to have credit so I'm building it up now, lol.

House prices in the west are' just crazy'. I bought my first house in Bulgaria for 5000 euros and that had 1/3 rd of acre and 4 barns. one of over 2000square feet -but it needed work, too much for one person in retrospect -the house was far too big for one person and a dog and cat to live in and since Covid building materials have skyrocketed. My second for 30,000 smaller but enough for me and the occasional girlfriends when they visit-but still has a garden with workshop bigger than most in the UK and a nice upstairs outside covered balcony area. No work other than painting and decorating, some minor repairs and the usual household maintenance plus a lot cheaper to run and heat -especially has the downstairs is semi buried so cool in summer. warm in winter. The next door neighbours father and uncle built it. Unfortunately, Bulgaria has become a little more westernised in the 10 years I have had property here, and a lot of the older generations self -sufficency skills are becoming diluted in the younger generation.........but it still lags behind western Europe and you still have a lot of open air markets selling fresh home grown produce and small independent shops that have died a death in a lot of places. Anyway the thread is drifting............
