Grizzly V.2 Adds Model Variants and Schemes

Thanks everyone. It is nice however to have all the Grizzly project stuff off my Desktop; it's been there since early December. Meanwhile, we are fortunate to have someone working on versions for CFS2, CFS3, and FSX native to compliment our FS2002 and FS2004 releases. :jump: We really appreciate thier interest and support to bring the Grizzly to a wide array of sims.

We hope you a lot of pleasure from this product.

I've been so dang busy I haven't got version one out of the hanger yet. Should I? Or should I load out v2 and try to fold up the tarmac..

It looks great Milton & Team. Just to see the new skins and the back lit panel shows so many realistics ( Is that a word?....ah heck, it is for me!!)

Great looking stuff:applause:

Yes, OleBoy, scrap the original version and go for version 2. Corrects some issues and offers 3 more models and textures plus the gauge backlighting.

And everyone, be sure to find that daytime VC light switch to brighten up the cockpit shadows. (Hint: on the center panel, lower rightside.)

EditVoicepack_add on

This add-on will give EditVoicepack users a choice of aircraft models.

The original XA-38 package includes the EVP files for "Beechcraft Grizzly". This addition will allow users to choose "Beechcraft Destroyer", which the aircraft was also known as.

I am using both... "Grizzly" for the civilian-type models and "Destroyer" for the armed models. Just a little change-up for fun.

You can download the the "Destroyer" version here:

Hey Brent, thank you for that ... you are always right there with these updates. Greatly appreciated. :ernae:

Would somebody please post a pic of the 2d pit please. I need a visual ref to compare to what im seeing in Windows 7 ultimate 64. Excellent job Milton and team:medals:.

Actually it appears that Brent has changed the side panel gauges dimensions to make them round. Scott made them a bit oblong to give the illusion that the are turned away from you a bit. That works for some people, not others.

Here is what I see in the 2D cockpit. (BTW Brent, they look just as nice if not better your way. :)

Ok, my 2d panel is showing
[Default View]
X=0
Y=0
SIZE_X=8191
SIZE_Y=4238

On my screen it does not cover the whole screen, more like a FSX panel effect when you dont adjust the X and Y. I'll try and grab a screenie, gota land my stallin stroch uscg 1st.

Have you changed the FS/Options/Settings/Display/Hardware settings to match your monitor resolution?

Nope, I haven't changed any gauge dimensions. Comparing ver1 and ver2 panel.cfg's I see a small handful of gauges that are sized slightly different, but not enough to make those changes.
Usually, with my oddball monitor resolution, the widescreen monitor egg-shapes the 2D gauges a bit, but in the Grizzly they are nice and round.
My screen res default and in-game is 1440 x 900.

It's strange how different things are from one computer to another.

indeed it is. Yours are perfectly round. My screen res is 1280X1024 but I'm on a 3/4 ratio monitor so that explains the difference.

Hi Milton,

I'm curious (nothing more) as to why you use a 5/4 resolution on a 3/4 monitor ?

For a long time I ran FS2004 using the "classic" 3/4 resolution on my 5/4 flatscreen monitors but relatively recently switched to the same ratio (1280x1024) as the monitors (2x 19")

Cheers,

Alastair

Hi Alastair,

I think I mis-spoke ... the monitor is likely 5/4 and the screen looks almost square. It is a Balance monitor that has a max resolution of 1280X1024. Nice wife's Christmas present. :)

Any less resolution is not satisfying in FS. Sorry about the confusion.

Hi Milton,

Need I say that the "apology" really wasn't necessary ! You may have been one of the few still using a CRT, most of which were the traditional 1:1.33 ratio.

You do indeed have a nice wife .....

Best wishes,

Alastair

Wow...

Great, great job. I've paid money for planes that aren't this good. Having a lot of fun with the Grizzly. :applause: But give us gold and we'll ask for platinum. I know only 2 prototypes were made in real life but wouldn't a night fighter version have been really cool? Maybe something to think about....

No offense to the payware crowd, but Mr. Shupe was doing us right for a looonnng time. Favorite AC of mine is the AC500 with wood grain panel. Not exactly released yesterday. Flying SUV par excellance. (How about a nice burl wood panel, like a Jag!). Had to go there. Yup! :ernae:
