More of an omission. My thinking was that it's a trainer, not a combat aircraft and probably not so concerned with nav lights being perpetually on.

I'm working on a UK based Polish trainer from No. 16 Flying School, RAF Newton. Why is it so hard to find pre-1945 UK based Harvard liveries?:banghead:

The were not working at all (Type was not originally set to Track), rather than being on all the time.

If you want them on all the time the max speed can be adjusted up.

I usually start from the runway, so the "StartEngine0" effect initiation and omission of speed settings was more of a personal preference that carried over into the uploads. I can upload the "Track" option in the future for air starts.

I learned something this week. You can use Type = Track without any Min / Max Speeds and the effect plays whenever you're moving. So, to come close to the original design intent for training aircraft that start their missions already in the air the effect's entries I posted earlier really should be changed to:

<Effect Type="Track" EffectName="fx_ac_Light_nav_green" PosX="6.34" PosY="-0.21" PosZ="-0.16"/>
<Effect Type="track" EffectName="fx_ac_Light_nav_red" PosX="-6.34" PosY="-0.32" PosZ="-0.16"/>
<Effect Type="Track" EffectName="fx_ac_Light_tail" PosX="0.0" PosY="-0.1" PosZ="-6.0"/>

The earlier ones with the Min / Max velocities could be for air starting missions with liaison aircraft in combat theaters where you would still want to switch off your lights to avoid unwanted attention.

Using the original ones with StartEngine0 is the most realistic option if you start your missions engine off, on the runway in training situations.

Sorry for the confusion I may have caused anyone. :unsure:
