Has anyone built a Schleicher ASK16 motor glider for FS2004?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has built a Schleicher ASK16 motor glider for FS2004? If not, would anyone consider building an ASK16 for FS2004? I'm not very handy at that work, I'm afraid.

The original ASK16, built by Alexander Schleicher Segelflugzeugbau GmbH in Poppenhausen/Wasserkuppe, Germany, and designed by Rudolf Kaiser, is a pretty side-by-side two-seater with retractable main gear a la Mooney M20, and a 70 hp flat-four Limbach SL 1700 EBI engine. It has great flight characteristics.

Attached are some photos of ASK16 D-KAXE owned by Andreas Reinl and based at Flugplatz Stauffenbuhl, Eschwege, Germany. This particular ASK16 has two auxiliary tanks slung under the wings.

Cheers,
Maarten

Hi Craig

Many thanks for your reply.
I know that site very well. Wolfgang Piper has built some great models, several of them I have flown myself in the real-life versions (Ka4 Rhoenlerche, K7, ASK13, ASK21, ASH25, SF25C Falke (Limbach and Rotax).

Unfortunately only 44 ASK16's have been built, so this beauty has always been an "unknown" one.

Cheers,
Maarten

it's a very nice looking motor glider i must admit only 44 built? that really is a rarity, don't think i've even seen one in the UK...

I looked a bit more into the mystery Maarten, this is definitely not the one I saw at the DTM in Munich and had asked about over at CC. Still would be very nice if someone with the Gmax skills could come up with a model for this one.
A small 1700CC VW engine and some great wings and you have a superb flying machine.
