heads up rotorheads

I guess I'm a rotorhead...

I'm downloading it right now. Of course, it's much easier to download a helicopter than to fly it! With the EC135 released a few months ago, and now this, there are some fine rotorcraft available in FS9.

Well, after looking at it, I think I'll stick with the EC145 by Laurent Hadorn. I like the rotor texture and animation better, and the model and VC is just as good.

Not being a huge fan of the EC145 but being a big fan of US Army aviation, I took just enough out of the base pack to make the UH-72 Lakota work. I like the texture options for that model. I didn't know 'till now that the Navy Test Pilot School uses it.

The ICARO offerings I find are often misleading.
You think it's just a warmed-over earlier model but there's generally a great deal of work behind the scenes.
This one has a very much better VC than my old Laurent Hadorn one, from memory.
I'm not quite up to speed with the instruments, but it will stay in my hangar for a while yet.

Rotor textures are a matter of taste, these don't bother me.

Heads Up ...

In case you are trying like me to fly this thing with only one engine no matter what you do...
BOTH throttles need mousing in the VC to get operating N1
