Helio Courier for FS2024

A classic STOL airplane's been released on SimMarket, the Helio Courier. Haven't heard of the dev, but their previous release, the Tayrona LSA, got good reviews on SimMarket and apparently saw a number of upgrades to address user feedback. So probably pretty safe if you need another plane in your STOL hangar.

Oooh, their Facebook post calls this initial release "early access," so keep that in mind. SimMarket didn't point that out...

Definitely has an early access feel to it. Model looks decent but you only get one livery. Tundra tyres only, no other config. There is one with a cargo pod shown in one of the screenshots but I haven't found out how to load that. Maybe in a tablet or maybe in the weight/balance page. I've only flown it for about 10 mins. Textures inside are very.......flat? They don't interact with lighting that well which makes them look very 2D and a bit portover-ish. A bit like the Black Box Twin Pin. The engine is massively overpowered (400+ HP showing up in the dev mode debugging window) so the climb is ridiculous, but it does handle fairly convincingly at low speed and the slat animations seem alright, better than some others I've seen. Also, the prop hunts massively (over 200RPM) at cruise which is annoying to say the least. That's my first 10 mins, I'll have a play with the config files and see if I can make it behave better. Sounds are decent.
