mmm, colors, tricky. Every pic shows slightly different colors, due to the lighting and angle, and on top of that, I'm colorblind (yes, really).
At the moment, it is insignia white below, intermediate blue in the middle, and glossy sea blue on top, as it should be for a naval aircraft.
On the other hand, show me a pic with the colors that you like, and I'll see what I can do, OK?

Meanwhile, I've done Felix, now for the bull...anybody have a good pic?

Allthough the dark blue tone on the top could be just a "little bit" darker
And just one black diagonal stripe on the side instead of two.
But yeah, its looking better by every update. :ernae:

I have that installed , never thought to check or find out how place in the AI , she is a pretty model , happen to sail her past the Ark Royal outta Gibraltar, looked so good .

With the AI ships addon you can place her quite convinently, say a mile or 5 mi ahead and set her in motion and turn her as needed. With her steaming at 20 knots and a 15 knot wind you have an almost perfect wind over the deck. I's also fun to steer the AI, but pilotable Fletcher class DD in company with her. The only wierd thing about AI ships, the power controls "airspeed", not water speed when you are "flying" them.

Im going to say bit of a dumby here , the AI ships addon , could i ask you to give me some direction in getting this AI up and running maybe of the coast of New Zealand , maybe between the North and South Island on the Pacific coast east coast or fact best were to get the AI ships addon . This is one area i have not played with creating AI traffic .

Humm... isnt that the F6F-3 your doing the repaint on?
Because the G-BTCC is an F6F-5, most visual noticable difference is the cockpit canopy.

AICarriers2 works literally anywhere, Ian. You just call up a menu that looks the same as the default ATC options window, select the type of ship/group you want, then on the second screen how far in front of you you want it.

After placing a ship, you open the window again to tell it to move. If you want it to stop, or change course, open the window again and tell it what to do. It's very easy to use.

Just for the record, I use shift-ctrl-s to open the window. How you do so is configurable.
 
Good thing the textures are the same then.
Because funny enough they have it mislabeled on their site. Photos of the plane clearly show its an F6F-5. But i guess its not a surprise since they are a british museum.(no offence to brits here, just a comment since the hellcat isnt a british plane)
Maybe i should drop them a line on that.
 
Far more likely, they don't develop and maintain the site themselves, but it's done by a third party developer.
 
I'm getting there I think:
- slightly darker dark blue
- drew the bull
- removed the gunstains
- made it less dirty
- made the markings white where necessary
- changed back to f6f-5
- removed one line between steps,

JanKees, looks really good to me. As for the color, I think you hit it right on. You know the pacific theatre was not easy on paint jobs. I think the south pacific sun and dust has done a little wearing on that beauty. My vote is sender out.
 
Looking very good Jan Kees. Repainting is a sweet mystery to me, so can I just ask in ignorance whether it's possible to tone down the rivets & panel lines a little?
