Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Help with editing an airport in the sim.

Hello, so I would like to edit an airport in the sim, including adding an ILS. I would like to visualize the ILS in Google Earth or something similar by drawing a line that extends straight out from the centerline about 10 miles. I know the basics of using the ruler tool, but I haven't found a way to do this.

So does anyone know a way I might be able to do this?

Thanks

I'd be interested too - I'd like to add an ILS to IM Scenery's Scampton. At present, my Avro Vulcan has to divert to Waddington at night in bad weather. Also need to add one at Seletar in Singapore.

If you fly an aircraft with a Garmin unit, it will display a line like that if you set it up properly. It is not only ILS though, it will do that also on non ILS airfields by simply extending the runway direction.

I did that many times in bush flying scenarios in PNG.

Cheers,
Mark
