Milton,

I will be honest, I was not terribly interested in this project until I read the docs you posted above. I cant wait to get home and install this ship and try it out. Im looking forward to sailing the inward passage around Canada and Alaska. I will be able to provide some feedback on it then. I hope it will heel over well in a stiff breeze as that to me is really what the sailing experience is about.

Sean

Not a problem Sean. I knew going into this that sailing ships would get a small audience .... LOL but this is not your normal sailing ship in FS, as you will see. :)
I will PM the link to you.

Milton, I don't know how many FS9 users are still around, but there are a bunch of us FSX guys drooling over this baby!

The FSX/P3D response and testing has been awesome and the great news is this package works beautifully in FSX and P3D (with some restrictions in P3D 2.4 and 2.5). Thank you.

Hi Milton,

I have just sat in the bosun's chair hanging out splicing a bottle of grog and a mermaid, waiting patiently until this wonderful looking creation is uploaded.

Ha har
Andy.

ps. This grog is more powerful than I thought and I cannot find the ship at all..., not here, not there. Oh well, as Foster Brooks would say, 'it'll turn up'. I'll go and do a bit more splicing. Ha har.

Did you not get a beta copy?

That is the 2D cockpit view without a 2D panel. You see that because it is so far out in front. I had changed the effect so it would not show in the Cockpit view, but for some reason it still does. Please ignore it.

Hi,
I'm having to leave the computer for a few days, but I did have a short sea trial in (on?) the Beagle and this is a fantastic addition to our fleet. Everything worked I think as it is supposed to; wonderful sounds, cannon fire and slow manoeuvrings in the open sea. I haven't yet attempted to get to shore yet, luckily for the crew, as on the pay I give them they'll only have enough for one thimble of grog but they can find that out later.

This is great. :applause: :applause:
Thank you all

Andy.

Thank you Andy. We appreciate your efforts to help check out the package. We continue to make improvements in handling and sounds and hope the results will enhance what seems to be a well accepted Bounty package by some 30 testers.

Hi Milton,

I've watched the progress, over the months, of this classic ship with interest. But I just haven't had the time to fire up the sim much over the last few months, hence my not participating in the beta testing.

From looking at the screenshots , it certainly is a stunner. :applause: :applause:

Pete.

Hi Pete,

Not a problem Sir ... hopefully she'll be out this weekend and will be available whenever folks have time for a little relaxation and something different.

Actually Pete had me over at Classic Flyers NZ in January and it was quite a challenge for him to keep me away from the propellers for almost a whole day. I think he had to recover from that experience all the time since. LOL

Cheers,
Maarten

OK I thought I understood this, Milt what am I doing wrong?

Sean,

Would you try again but this time show the Test Gauge window in the screen shot (shift+3) as well.

Be sure you are not in SLEW mode.

Thanks

EDIT: Do you have FSUIPC installed? What other add-ons might you have active?

Oh I feel like a tool. This is a new install of FS9 and I hadn't installed fsuipc yet. Arrggh. it works as advertised now. Thanks Milt.

No problem Sean; You aren't the only one who has done this in testing. :) Happy to hear it is working for you now.

This is a minor question and in no way is it meant to take away from the beauty of this marvelous vessel, but...

Would that be the correct anchor for 1790?

It is a logical question to ask.

The Bounty has so many parts that needed to be included, I simply ran into parts and poly limits and the anchor was one of the last things done.

Secondly, the Bounty model is a marriage of both the original plans and the replica plans, both in parts and in measurements.

Since I did not have polys to build (and could not properly animate) the original anchor structure, I based the anchor off the replica of 1960.
In fact, the anchor plate textures used are from the 1960 replica in its later black paint scheme after the last rebuild.

There are many parts we don't register or see. For example, there are 100 deadeyes, 258 rigging lines. over 140 clew lines most of which are hidden until needed, and 40 sails, although you see 14. I had to delete almost all the parts from the hold deck, most parts from the lower deck, and several parts from the upper deck, and deleted polys everywhere just to get the model to export to the sim. So, we have to live with the limitations and hopefully what you see, you can enjoy.

Thanks for your interest. :)

Animated helmsman

On the previous v2, I remember seeing an animated helmsman. I don't see him in V3. Is he with a certain livery or better yet, if he is still included, how can I get the view of
the deck with the helmsman? I like the birds/no birds option with the switch added in V3.

Thanks

The helmsman should be visible anytime the anchor is weighed.

EDIT: In FS9 there are no exterior views other than the Spot view. You can zoom in and pan around to see him pretty well.

In FSX. there is no alternate view that shows him prominently, but certainly that could be added.
