Well to be fair it's probably only been downloaded 80 times so it's not going to be that common, I scanned it with Avast anti-virus before I uploaded it and nothing was found so it should be okay.

Fly Navy!

"Being in all respects ready for sea, HMS Victorious will proceed....." Thank you, Flying Stations.

I think the third destroyer is off in the distance. I didn't have a wake either, so for the moment I am using the one from one of the other FS carriers.

Absolutely stunning! I have eagerly been waiting for this one and it very much lives up to the expectations! Thank you!

849 NAS came aboard Victorious in 1960 with their new Gannet AEW.3 and even if the airgroup is slightly earlier I had to test it out with my "V" paint.

Great work on the escort Darings as well!

Time for testing the Scimitar..

Jens, nice shots! As far as I can tell 849 had Skyraiders for the first half of 1960 and then re-embarked with Gannets around October. If there's demand I can do a version without the Skyraider and maybe an extra Scimitar.

Yes, I believe you are spot on. As far as my reference goes, so did the AEW Gannets replace the Skyraiders in late 1960. The same radar though... which later on soldiered on with the RAF in their Shackletons.. amazing story of ww2 radar equipment used to the very end of the cold war (It probably tells more about failed British procurement than the radar itself).
The Gannet certainly is an easy plane to land in FSX and the canopy provides excellent visibility

I do like the Skyraider, but could be nice with an all Scimitar lineup.

Outstanding!!!

Had a dozen or so circuits in both the Scimitar and the Bucc S.2 - simly stunning.

The only oddity I found was that in launching the Alphasim/Virtavia Scimitar, it "bumped" up and down the length of the cat, whereas it didn't do this when launched off the Ark, and no other aircraft that I tried did this at all on the new Vic '60. I'm inclined to think this behaviour has more to do with the AS/V Scimitar as opposed to the boat itself.

In any event, a fantastic project. In addition to the superb quality of the boats, what shocked me was the graphics performance. By that I mean not minimal, not negligible - but ZERO - impact on FPS. Pegged at 25, the boat was at 25 fps with the Scimitar. The Bucc was around 18 - that's the same as what I get with the Bucc at any land-based aerodrome. What appears (to my limited knowledge of graphics) to be "baked" textures, the look and feel is miles over the Ark.

To date, in my view, the RFN carriers had set the bar in terms of the visual quality and frame rate performance. Skip, Fras, and team have clearly entered that arena - this set of boats is simply stunning. Bravo.

I'd basically "checked out" of this hobby over the last few months - I'd had enough of watching negative, ignorant and belligerent coments being posting with impunity. But projects such as these help restore some of the excitment that was this hobby many years ago ...

Many thanks,

DL

Copy that DL. This new Victorious and Daring escorts are wonderful. Also, a new area of history for me to research and learn about. Thanks all.

@Jens, stunning images!

@DL, thanks for the comments, know how you feel regarding checking out, glad we may have helped coax you back.

Happy Simming chaps.

Been waiting anxiously for this one for a couple of years, pretty much since it was first anounced and she dosn't disapoint. Spent my evening flying circuits in a Scimitar around her... right up to the point that I rather embarissingly ran out of go juice on the Cat... I'd firewalled the throttles and was scanning the engine panel when the engines started spooling down... 3 or 4 seconds longer and I'd have been going swimming :disturbed:

Hi from down south in Bournemouth Dave!

Now, if we could just get AI ships to sync in multiplayer we could crew 2-seaters like the Venom/Vixen/Bucc properly on and off the ship.
