I guess it depends on your perspective, and what you're basing an opinion on. Where I'm coming from is a lifetime of seeing military jets in person. My dad was a career USAF pilot, and I grew up getting taken out to the flight line and hangars, where I saw alot of planes, and always was struck by how clean they were. I'm currently in my third flying job (airline), which I've had for 20 years now, and I routinely share the taxiways with military planes. A good number of the cities we serve have a Guard or Reserve unit at the same airport, and I find myself in close proximity with fighters, tankers, and transports all of the time. Also, there are alot of transient military aircraft making stops at civilian airports, and I see alot of mil trainers, as well as many types of Navy, Marine, Army, and Coast Guard aircraft types. Not to mention the places I go to where it is a joint use field like Eglin AFB, Charleston AFB, Gray AAF/Ft Hood, ect.

I see ALOT of military planes on a regular basis, and not from a distance, either. I am taxiing right behind them, or holding short of a taxiway as they go by. I can't remember the last time I saw a heavily weathered military plane.
 
Call me a weirdo, but I'd love to see one in QF-106 guise. In the early 90's during my first years at Hurlburt Field, the manned Sixes' would do pattern work there once in a while. Nothing like hearing that burner hard light each go. That is how I remember them.

Sorry if I didnt make it clear in the readme, I tend to overlook the documentation side of things.
Hope this helps you.

If you are not sure about the first four on the list you’ll not need to do anything with the static model.
 
I've just gone through dozens and dozens of F-106 photos.

In the case of this aircraft, the vast majority of operational fighters were basically squeaky clean. On some the reflections are impressive.

Sometimes, one will be a bit less pristine.

If you want one that deserves the term "weathered", you've got to check out the QF-106s...

I really enjoyed watching that video of the 106s. It was a very impressive aircraft and you can see from the video how powerful and agile it was, not to mention how loud it was. Thanks for posting that.
